68 A/C Heater Box

Does anyone know how to remove the evaporator from the box?  I am restoring my A/C Heater box and am having trouble removing the evaporator.  The problem seems to be the drain tubes and the fact that they have tabs on the end of the tubes that prevent the tubes pulling back through the box for removal.  Any help in how to remove these tubes would be helpful.

There are ferrules on the drain tubes that can be carefully removed.  Check the top sticky on this page for pictures.

Basically a friction fit. Pliers and some gentle twists will get them off.

I used a 1/2 open end wrench behind the ferrules and tapped the side of the wrench and the came right off no damage...
