I'm looking for a 1987-1993 mustang 5litre 5speed.  Convertible would be nice.  Something already modified tastefully would be nice.  Want it fast, reliable and ready to go.  No projects.  Immediate gratification needed.  Should have the MASS AIR conversion already done if pre 1989.

There is a local guy here who has a 91 lx 5 speed for sale 4k I think. Light blue metallic . Pretty nice quick little car. Its in ne Iowa .If you want his info let me know.

If you want something a little different...  I'd sell you my 87 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, converted to a 347 Stroker with 5spd for 6500$.

I had a 92lx for a couple years when i also owned the charger.... was a fu. Car but i wish i would have sunk that money i to the charger..... started as a daily driver, turned to modifying, became a street strip car and before i k ew it, my daily driver now had a carb'd 306 with trick flow heads, big cam, tremec trans, built rear...yada yada yada.... ran 11.0's on street tires.....then i put spray on it...... it was a blast.... but it wasnt the charger.... so i sold it.

I love Fox body LX's; if I had the money I'd spring for one as well.  Personally, I'd like to get my hands on a '98 Cobra, the "one that got away."

Maybe so, but so many open boxes to do whatever you want with them.

Parts are cheap in comparison to mopars, and you can make 'decent' power out of a 302-347 setup.  Personally I chose to go 347 over 331 or 306 w/ a blower.  (It's not 2003 anymore, you can build an amazing stroker motor that'll last you more then 15k miles, and still not burn a drop of oil.)  It all boils down to what you like, and how you want to go about it.  There are so many different custom options for those cars.

My only problem is I've had a fox body car since high school (2001)  I'm no rather bored of them to be honest.  Got the T-bird to pretty much where I'd wanted her.  Now it's time to move on to the car I've wanted since I was 7, hence my Charger resto.

Ahh i think many of us are like that.

Had a Gt that was a bolt on car. Finished with a HCI windsor tremec ect ect. Sold it. Needed instat gratification too. Bought a 91 Lx not emeralg green original paint with HCI efi. Fun little car.

I wish.  When I was Mustang shopping in 1998 I could've had my choice in Fox body's (they were abundant then), a '98 Cobra or what a finally went with, a '98 GT...

Just don't wait too long to buy if you want one.  The nicer ones will already be climbing back up in value long before the raggedy ones hit bottom.

I think we always think thats too much $$ for what it is i will wait they will get cheaper. Always bites us when it comes to muscle cars or anything vintage.

I thought i paid too much for my rusty hulk in 2008. Now i see non r/t's in same shape as mine was for same $$ or more.

  One of the nicer foxes I had was an '87 GT I bought in 1998 for 3K. It was bone stock and super clean. One that clean and stock now normally has an asking price of 6K at least in this area.

Man, if only you had posted this sooner.   I traded away one last year to a friend for some second gen Charger parts, as I was tired of paying storage on it and had no time to go get it (out of state).  It was a mint white/green 1988 Mustang LX convertible that came with the factory 5.0.  The body had about 105,000 miles on it with no repaint or rust.  The drivers door was dented and did need replaced, but I got a correct color matched door with it.  The engine had been replaced with another 5.0 out of a 1986 GT (with 30,000 miles on it) after the original one locked up.  I ended up with most of the original parts except the block, which was traded into the junkyard as a core by the previous owner.  The car was practically given to me by someone whom I used to work with, because his wife would not let him own it anymore and he was tired of fighting her over it.  I think I paid like $5 for it (lunch), but much more $$$ later on in the storage.  My friend, the current owner, is "fixing it up" for his wife to drive.   He will likely be driving it more than her. ...

 Ive always had a thing for fox bodies. When I was in high school in the 80's they were the baddest thing going as far as new cars. I always envied the kids with wealthy parents who got new 5.0 Mustangs when they started driving while I tried to keep my Honda patched together and running, sacking groceries didn't quite pay enough for a new mustang. Later when I got out of high school and started making a little better money the first thing I did was save up enough money for a down payment on a 10 year old Fox GT. I was on top of the world driving that car home! Since then I have had 4 other fox bodies with varying levels of mods, then I got married had kids ect. and now drive a Toyota . I could go out and get another 5.0 and have thought about it, but now I am scrounging back pennies and dimes dreaming of a charger which I have drooled over since I was five. The sad part is in the 80's I probably could have found a charger for not a lot more cash than the raggedy Honda I bought on my grocery store paycheck    Sorry for the Essay
