Thanks fellas ! I will post more pics tommorow after it gets all of its panels back on. A little buffing and some hood paint and that will about round out the week. the paint came out really clean and slick. It's single stage with clear.

The red one is a at home project and right now we are just waiting for the engine to be done. Oh and also the carpet, that should be here soon to finish up the interior. Then it will just be engine , transmission and grille.

When you painted this green car did you have to paint the firewall and all the under hood stuff or was it already done ?
I see the hood hindges and just wondering where you stopped and started if you did not do it all at once

I did a flip edge that will be buffed away at the sharp bend of the aprons and at the firewall it was flip edged at the firewall to cowl seam.

Thanks!  The color is about half way between sublime and sassy grass. The car was originally fe5 red, but the lady that owns it wanted green and this is what she picked out. Awesome color.

I like to use single stage acrylic urethane on solid colors with clear for the depth it provides. It looks very deep. The paint we use on it is U-tech which is a akzo Nobel product. With a acrylic urethane clear. Another reason we like to do it this way is that you can do the engine compartment ,trunk under side of the hood etc. with the single stage and not need to clear it, then when you paint the outside its sure to match.
