Which is best over factory and newly welded seams? They are both waterproof.

Either one would work, but I'm partial to fiberglass.

And there it is, two people give an opinion and you get two different answers, I had to chuckle

My preferance would be fiberglass  but in a highly visible deep area like sail panel I would use metal to metal.

Interesting...did you seal the back side with epoxy or anything else to keep moisture out?

It is a weld.   Primered.  Painted.   Rusting again...

I have to chuckle every time a related question is asked, one reply states one answer, then it would seem without even reading any of the replies prior, post number 5 posts the exact same thing that was posted by previous poster, yet seems OP takes that reply as if no others were even posted???

I wasn't criticizing anything, just the fact that there are as many answers to a problem that sometimes it's hard to choose.  Been there.  You really have to choose what works best for you and then don't look back.  Working on these old cars is a combination of skill, art, perseverance and luck.

I don't see the issue.   Thanks for the reply.  I am interested to see what works for you.
