How's your wife and my kids?

Just heard about it on the news hear myself, it is sad. he was won of the greatest. On another note, do you know who John Larson is? He works for Dateline I think. He used to live 2 houses down from me, we didn't see eye to eye either. Owning six very nice 2nd gen. chargers at the time, and doing my normal test and tunes at the end of my block,it was a dead end by the way, he would call the cops on me, but my dad being a cop at the time, it didn't really matter to much at that time if he did call them. John Larson and I had words on many occasions, he never appreciated musclecars like my other neighbors did. We met up again in Seattle once, on accident, we laughed about those days of living in Anchorage, he asked me if I still had a charger, I replied, yeah buddy, and he said *oh great*, haha...

Wow! didn't he just retire or about to? Neil, you really don't know who he is??? Locally here in the Milwaukee area, they just had 2 news anchors die in the past few months from 2 different tv stations. One from cancer, and one from kiddney failier& diabetes. He was a good anchor.... RIP.

RIP.

I liked Jennings.    He just seemed to be more sincere, neutral, and more of a professional journalist as opposed to the polarizing one sided twits we see now.   Maybe it's because he was Canadian... maybe not.   Anyway,  he'll be missed.  :'(

I believe he is (was) Canadian.

There is a movement in the Chicago area to ban smoking in all public places. One commercial on the radio has a lady explaining that she worked in the restaurant/bar business for years who did not smoke and came down with cancer of the esophagus or lungs I don't remember exactly. Her doctor claims it was from exposure to cigarette smoke during her career even though she is a non smoker. Makes you stop and think.

He was Canadian.
The news report I watched this morning said he finally got a U.S. citizenship in 2003 & was finally able to vote in an American election. Apparently it was something he always wanted to do.

I liked him too, this is sad news.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Yep, he was Canadian....grew up in the city i live in...Ottawa, Ontario. I too enjoyed his style of reporting. I'm sure he'll be missed by many.  :icon_smile_sad:

I liked him. He seemed like a straight forward type of guy and very professional. My friend who is a detective was moonlighting at NBC studios for extra income and he was assigned Peter Jenning's studio for several weeks. He said he spoke to him on several occassions about the Iraq war and actually thank my friend for his tour of duty in Iraq - just a regular type of guy. Others in the same industries would probably ignore you like you were'nt even there. Rest in peace.

I just saw a TV interview with his long time friend Ted Koppel, he told a story of reporting on the '64 Goldwater presidential campaign. Goldwater shut off all reporting to the media and, with nothing else to do, the two of them rented an Austin-Healy and terrorized the foothills around Phoenix.

My kinda guy.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

dont want to sound harsh, but i dont care whether he died or not.  what makes him so damn more special than anyone else family or friends.  i hate the glorification of celebrities when they pass as if their passing deserves recognition moreso than anyone else's.  BS in my opinion.

They talked about him yesterday during World News Tonight, and said that he never wanted much time off.  I guess being a reporter was more than a job for him.
Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.  Especially if they have access to the internet.

RD

makes you wonder whether or not he would have lived longer if he didnt retire?

Can you imagine how long it would take to show the news if they reported on every person that died?

Alaskan Charger ~

Hey, guy!!!!   Is this who I think it is?   Russ helped you with your Charger?

Anyway, I had no clue about John Larson ... in Alaska?   Or did I misunderstand?

Anyway, if this is you, how's the car?   And the family, of course.     ;)
