69 Ashtray Lighter Element Replacement

Has anyone replaced the element in their cigarette lighter.  If so, how do you do it.  Thanks.

Pull the ashtray itself out of the frame.  Remove the screws holding the tray frame to the dash panel, and drop it down. Unhook the hot lead, and turn the tray frame over. You will be able to see a thin retainer nut at the base. Remove that nut, and pull the element free of the hole. Installation of the new element is just the reverse of disassembly. It shouldn't take you long to figure it out. Good luck

If you are reffering to the heating element itself I believe it unscrews from the handle
