Mystery back up lens

What would this be from? Besides being designated as a '68, it has a different profile than a "regular" 69 back up lenz. This one is completely flat across.

Don't '68 - '69 Road Runners, GTX's, etc also use the same back-up housing & lenses?

I wondered how long it would take for you to find that. I actually changed that out so they matched,but then I had to put that oddball back in there just because I could not find anything on it anywhere either.

It looks like there is a 7-digit part number cast into the lens. Just can't read it in the pic. What is the part number on it??

Nope. It's in smaller numbers, along the right side in your pic. Between the CC and the SAE stamping. Should be a series of 7 numbers.

Bill, 68 Road Runners have there backup lights in the center of the tail light. 69's have there's in the bumper.

69/70 - 2932954 same as wagon up to 1/69
then wagon used 2932993.  

So what is on the lens

I've got one of those flat lenses.Not positive what it's from.
Might have something to do with this listing in the '69 parts catalog.

I'm going to start a thread on mystery screw, or wait nut , bolt , dont have part numbers on them , I'm screwed , have you guys got cabin fever

8-56-0 is the lamp assembly and 8-56-8 is the lens.
But you can't buy just the lens, it is a lens and gasket pkg. When they use the word PKG, the number changes.
The 2853438 number must be just for mould/casting.  They did some strange things back in the day.
Not to get off suject but when something was first produced in many cases you could get seperate parts. They they would make it a package, be it a rebuild package or assembly.  And you could no longer get JUST the single item. Chrysler did that alot.

was in garage having a tidy up the weekend , just out of curiosity , looked at whats on my back up lamp lenses ,

both the same  reads SAE R-69-R  & part # 2930805    cars SPD 22nd November 68  , the out side of the lense is flat , ribbed on the inside

bit of a long story , but ! I have an idea that these are not original to the car though , because the car had had many electrical melt downs before I got it &  quite a few jury rigged repairs
