This hobby is more than just our cars, it's the people you get to meet along the way!!!

Too much is the point where you regret it.  Up to that is nobody's concern but your own.

bakerhillpins

:o  Wow, how do you get that much rust on the bottom and not have any rot around the rear window??  :scratchchin:  Not to mention it looks like the leaf springs should be up in the trunk.

Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

it really depends on how far you are willing to go, and if you are after the options that are listed on that particular car. for the amount of work that it will take, and the parts you will need to find, ive seen better deals. the car at first glance doesnt look that bad. then you see the frame rails and rear quarters, trunk pan, front fenders, complete interior, no wheels, you could start with a rust bucket and be in the same place. so are you paying for the numbers matching? the cruise option? the original paint color?  thats what id ask myself before paying that much for this car.

I agree.

Every car rusts differently but that one has lots of nasty frame rot. I really don't think that one would be fun to take apart. If you had lots of time and superior metal skills it sure is a cool car. It would be nice if someone could save it.

I would like to meet some of these people who bid on these cars with so much rot...I still believe a lot of these folks run on 'hopes and dreams' and overpay for something they don't know about and realize it after taking it home thinking they can change out the tires and roll like a modern car and then they are forced to sell it knowing they bought more than they can chew.

R6red4spd69RT

Wow, this is just sad seeing that car in that condition.

That looks like a lot of money and a lot of work with a lot of unknown.

F8-4life

Wow cool car for sure.
5-6k would be a decent real world price.
8-10k is the ebay price.
11-12k is the fc7/ebay combo price.

Mytur Binsdirti

When the car is completed,  I'll give you 35K for it, but only if it's as nice as Bill's purple '70.

With that being said, this should give you an idea on the purchase price.

This seems like a $7000 car to me.  Maybe $9000 if it had a complete interior.  Obviously it's going higher than this for someone...not for me.

As for restoring it - I don't really see any difference in a little or a lot of rust in the quarters and floors if they are being replaced.  It's all mopar4don territory.

its at 10 grand all ready  :o  ,   to me seems crazy when you got to do a complete resto on a car & cut out soo much rotted metal , prices of these cars are going nutts  :eek2:

If the rails & other structural parts weren't so far gone, OK I could see $10K. But I concur with the above posters. Seems too high right now with this much rot.

I looked at the bidders, only 1 or 2 had a real ranking? Someone driving the bids up? :scratchchin: Also only 5 bidders?  :shruggy:

Car is more than likely worse than it looks! Any notices the over spray on the tail pipes?  :shruggy:

I would not touch that Charger with a ten foot pole unless I could get under the car with a pick hammer and see what is really still there!

It makes it dang near impossible for a 20 year old college kid like me to buy a 2nd generation charger when straight up junk like this sells for 10 grand or more!!  :brickwall: :flame:

It's a charger 500 , not an RT , numbers matching who cares 383 , no disrespect ment , over here 100k to restore for a 35 to 45 k car WTF , now if I had my rt here ready to go , this would make a nice parts car to help
