That sadly wont help the taillights from being rounded though.

I thought the '11-'14 sedan was a huge improvement over the '05/'06-'11 sedan.  I thought it was a huge step in the right direction, in that, at least it had some styling cues from the '60s cars.

My biggest complaint about the '11-'14 sedan, other than the extra doors, was that the horrible truck nose was still there.  This '15 sedan front end is closer to what it should be, but still falls way short.  I too have heard that Dodge actually stated this car took cues from the '69 model, but obviously they didn't take cues from the '69 front end....

As for the back end, the '11-'14 rear end looks better.  If they had kept the shape (and tail lights) of the '11-'14 and given it the new style of LED lighting, it would look much better.

Also, now, instead of only having retro rear side markers, now all the side markers are in the wheel wells......stupid looking in my opinion.

I'm interested to see what the SRT version will look like, perhaps it will be more retro than the standard model...but I won't hold my breath.

All that said, I've just about bitten my tongue off trying to be civil about this post, so I am going to stop before I start ranting and raving.

P.S.: The new challenger looks great, comes in B5 and Sublime next year!

Seeing that the current SRT's large mouth bass grille looks worse than the standard model or R/T, I'm not holding out any hope.  :eek2:

You know what I don't get :shruggy: Dodge Wanted a 4 door sedan Muscle car.. Oke that is a great Idea.. But why must this be the Charger? :slap: They built the Challenger to be the ultimate muscle car. And make it a 2 door. and Leave the Charger with the 4 doors.. It was a Magnum car.. With a Charger name on it :brickwall:.. Still a big Shame if you ask me.  :slap: :slap:

They know that there are many fan's that wanted a 2 door New Charger.. Way not make that option? So foks can choose between a 4 door or 2 door.. I would bet the 2door sales go to the roof and the 4 door would not sell that quick..

Dodge sad in 2008.. Don't like it? Go and buy a 69 Charger then :o :shruggy:

Well we must now go to Westcoast custom and change the hole car.. they did make a 2 door off the 2008 Charger and that looks sick!

Should be able to get the "Scat Pack" option for the 485 HP hemi.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

A 2dr option would mean retooling half the car body again.  Not a cheap option.  And it would not be stealing many buyers from the 4dr, it would be stealing most them from the Challenger.

Look at what happened in 1970.  Challenger sales took a huge obvious bite out of Charger sales.  The same principle would be happening today - a 2dr Charger and Challenger would be chasing too many of the same buyers.

Bingo, what I been saying for years that's why there will never be a 2 door option charger you can't have two cars competing in same class.  Many argue sales will go through the roof, nut in reality it will not.

How about a manual transmission?  That would be nice since the floor tunnel, linkage, and transmission is readily available from the Challenger... :scratchchin:

Not bad when the bumper is body color.  Needs the hood scallops though :yesnod:

They have paddle shifters on the srt models those are manuals.

JB400

Vipers and Challengers are the only Mopar cars with a manual trans.  All others are 8 spd automatics, I believe.  But, I'll agree, the Charger would be more fun if it had a manual.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the paddle shifters are for the automatics, working in "slap shift" mode.

I agree, that that is something else this sedan lacks, a manual tranny option.

I also agree that they should have left the hood scallops, they were another nice retro touch (you know, and actual '69 design cue...).

The 4 door argument has been beaten to death...but what I do find hillarious (and ironic) is going on the forums/facebook groups and all the 06-10 and 11-14 Charger owners whining and hating on the car because its not a a real Charger... :smilielol:

HA!  And the '06-'14 is outselling the '66-'74...  :shruggy:

It'll be interesting to see how Joe Q Public buys them up... or not.    :Twocents:

To be fair though, if you are going to compare the current Charger sales to the old ones you really have to compare the sales with all of the former Dodge and Plymouth mid size offerings in both two and four door and arguably the C-bodies as well since all of those choices were available then and if you want a mid size car from Chrysler today without a Chrysler nameplate on it, the Charger is your sole option.

Maybe they are making it all round and soft looking so that in a few years as the CAFE standards emasculate it they can keep selling it to a different demographic?

bull

The Dart grill looks 100% better than the 06-14 "Charger" grill. At least it won't be a Ram "Charger" any longer. Now that they've finally gotten away from the truck grill they be able to go somewhere new and unique with it design-wise. IMO there is finally getting to be some hope after 9 years of disappointment. And that is the nicest statement I have ever made about this car.

Uh-oh, me thinks someone got their feelers hurt.  Because sales figures have nothing to do with the fact that it IS ironic that the 06-14 lovers say the '15 "isn't a real charger", especially when these same groups slammed me and many others for saying the same thing when Dodge slapped the badge on a 4 door, a much larger change than just a front end redesign.....

Even more ironic is when these same folks go all bat-shit crazy at the mention of a 2 door because "this car has nothing to do with the '60s muscle cars".  Yet these same people spend thousands of dollars on "mods" to make their sedan look like a '68 to '70 charger.

Don't even get me started on the "gen" arguments.  Hearing people call the '11 to '14 sedan "the second gen charger" is really irritating.  Talking to some of them about it is like trying to explain that "hammer time" stole the music from "super freak".......they just don't get it.

HeavyFuel

I've got a black 2015 R/T as a rental for the next month......been driving it for a week now.

It's a nice car.  Plenty of pep, comfortable as hell, looks good.

The grill and tail upgrades are a nice improvement, in my opinion.

I could own one pretty easily, and not feel bad about it.......c'mon guys...it's better than driving a friggin' Camry around....(which are nice cars, don't get me wrong).

People are adding weight to their chargers now to go faster, lmao.  After they read how the hellcat can not 204mph vs thallengers 200 and was told it hit that because of weight people started to add cinder blocks in the trunk.
