Any one changed there distributor with this "Ready-to-Run Distributor Kit" Kind of wounding what you dont need after you install it and where the power comes from. Like do i need to run a new heavy gauge wire?  Or can i use the wire going to the coil now.

If you have electronic ignition now then you will remove the ecu and the ballast resistor.  You can still use the ecu but you have the option of having it built into the new dizzy.  That's how mine is.

The coil needs a source of constant 12V and keyed 12V, that's it.  The dizzy is plug and play, cold not be easier!

No need for heavy duty wiring but that would be something I'd recommend if the charging system is still stock, regardless of ignition.

I just bought one to update the old points set up. I did something similar in a camaro i had all i did there was to run a heavy  gauge wire from a key on to the dist, but that had a built in coil ,i got a upgraded coil for the charger also. It has a simple diagram instruction that comes with it but mentions nothing about what wire, what size wire or where to take it from or what you wont need after its installed.

For power wires it's never a bad idea to use 14 gauge.  The keyed ignition is that size as well.

Stock size wire to coil and as the dizzy is just a trigger stock there also will be fine. I just recurved and took some advance out of mine to get rid of some light ping. My 440 six pack is purring like a tiger now!  :2thumbs:
  Use Firecore plug wires also!
