didn't save any other pics or info but in one pic of the interior  it had what looked to be a factory sunroof   and they were claiming it to be an original sunroof car   :scratchchin:

Thanks JB400! I am still working on getting the 73-74 sunroof cars put together. Hopefully sometime this year! Scott.

Well, the project Red/Black 1969 Charger R/T SE in Texas has surfaced and changed hands. Still trying to get a few more details on this car. 440 and Dana were sold long ago - and I think the new owner was thinking about a crate Hemi. I will update the pamphlet with the picture here in a few days. Scott.

love the sunroof option, it's amazing how rare they were back then compared to new cars now. Very cool sdweatherman!

One factor would have been cost, they were about as much money then as they are now.

Just curious, but I thought I had seen a post (I think here) on a late production 68 Charger sunroof car!  Anyone shed some light on this or better yet have pics?!

Yes, a very interesting car, history, and thread. Possibly a test car to see how ASC's sunroofs would look and hold up before they committed to a contract. Could also be a car that the first owner took to ASC because they really wanted a sunroof. Here is the link:

OneOfNoneRT has a few other threads on this car - I think the links are in this thread.

I have a 73 with a manual factory sunroof.  318 (now 340), slapstick, power window, AC car, but it is a base model not an SE.  I haven't seen another base sunroof 73-74.  Anyone else got one?

sdweatherman

64dartGT,
I have run across a few WH23 sunroof cars, and several WP29 sunroof cars for 1973. But when you say base Charger, do you mean WH23, or did Dodge do some WL23 or WL21 cars like Plymouth did with the Satellite line?
Thanks, Scott.

that 71 rt is back up

Thanks for posting polywideblock - and thanks Tan Top for posting up the pics.

I have been looking over the pictures and comparing them to other sunroof cars. I am not 100% sure that this is a true factory sunroof car. Its hard to tell in the one picture, but the sunroof panel seems to be a tad bit smaller compared to other sunroof cars. It almost looks like it might be an A-Body manual sunroof panel. It would be interesting to see if it has a switch on the roof next to the rear-view mirror, or a manual crank up there.

Sold for 61700 Australian. Will be interesting to see if the new owner finds DC.com - and maybe figure out if its a factory unit or not.

Bump - Several updated pictures and a few more 1971 Chargers have been added to the 1971 pamphlet at the beginning of this thread. Thanks for keeping your eyes peeled!

I have a 72' SE power sunroof car that has been in the family since 1978.   My dad also had another 72' SE power sunroof car that was green with a white top that was hit hard int he front and ended up being parted out in the early 80's.  I sold the roof out of that car about 8 years ago.

Hmmmm...I wonder why the pic got cut off so bad???   I will try and post again.
