It'll be fully "restored" & look as though is never left, or fell underneath, the museum.

It'll just lose a few points at the next show.

There comes a point when you need to let go...this is one of those times....it will never be the same car no matter how much money you throw at it....

miller time

you can sell it as "modern art" for a million dollars im sure :smilielol:

and it could be "saved" and by saved i mean, swap the 15 or so fixable parts, to an identical vett and pop the vin tag on the new one, after you "hammer" it flat

do you think they junk it after a while, or make it a perminate display?

Dino

It's the perfect display to remember the incident...and a great way to remind visitors there may be more sinkholes!   :D

:iagree:    Wingcar is right!  :yesnod:   At some point they must realize the level of destruction the last unit suffered and review their decision about it.  I predict GM will announce something to the effect ..."We're sorry to announce that we have lost the 8th Corvette to the Earth, it cannot be resuscitated, and will therefore be removed from life support." Hopefully the Corvette community will mourn the loss, and move on.

Actually the 6th Corvette pulled, the 1.5 Millionth looked almost as bad and also may not be salvageable.  :shruggy:

miller time

so mabey yall will know, why is a 2001 covette so special, or important?
seems to me instead of mourning a new car getting crushed, building an identical clone would be the right thing todo

its not like is an original 1960s corvette or an original General Lee from the tv show, or what am i missing here?
in other words what makes it "1 of the great 8" and why were there only 8 great corvettes?
:shruggy: :shruggy: :shruggy:

chargerman69

Its not really special, they want to rebuild cause it was giving to them couple mouths before the sinkhole by the couple that got it new and built it like some vette GM built, The 8 great corvette saying meaning means the 8 vettes that were in the sinkhole
