The crew at the Chrysler Performance West really puts on a great time. The show has been great since I first went in 2002 but....
I was barely able to avoid one of the few pitfalls of this show.
Phil A Buster.
THAT guy always monopolizes every conversation. He butts into conversations to dispense his wisdom even though nobody asked for it. He has owned every type of desireable car. He knows everything. Whatever you have done, he did it first and better than you.
I have been trapped by this guy before. He looks to be mid 30s with long brown/reddish hair and wore a red bandana. He reminded me of a cousin of Axl Rose from Guns and Roses.
This guy kept showing up near me. I half expected to find him behind the lid in the port-a-potty ready to discuss the color code of the urinal cake.
I mentioned this guy to a couple of other guys there and was happy/sad to learn that they too had been held hostage by the same guy. They all admitted to avoiding the guy like a convict avoids the police.
I wish I would have taken a picture of the guy to post it here as a service to the Mopar community.
"Warning Warning Warning: Beware of this man referred to as Phil A Buster. He has the distict ability to ruin a great hobby by droning on for hours even after the crowd has thinned down to one poor lonely listener. His long winded monologues almost makes you eager to change subjects to dog grooming, the 2013 tax code or entomology."

I'm not sure why you'd be 'trapped'.

Just tell the guy you're not interested in having a discussion with him.  If he gets his feelings hurt then that's his problem.

I've run into a few odd ducks locally that I've learned to avoid engaging in conversation at shows.    You will have to politely excuse yourself if you get ambushed one on one.  Walk or run the other way if you have to.

haha...

he's a good buddy of mine. The boy can talk...but he does know his sh*t...
