I was there. I seen that car driving northbound on Woodley Ave. while I was waiting in the swap line on the shoulder of Woodley Ave. It had to be your car, I remember the red stripe and the black Cali plates. Very nice Charger sir!!! I didn't get a chance to look at it while I was at the show. Got bombarded at my swap space with the hoards of spectators.

Nice work

I was wondering what happened to you...

Are you going to MATS this weekend?

No, unfortunately the car's not exactly done.  We were still missing a few pieces that we'll get over the next 2-weeks.  And the AC lines were painted as opposed to plated as the intent was to have them look exactly the same for years assuming the car will be driven quite a bit.  But we got enough comments on it, that we're just going to take them off and have them plated.  (The AC is not charged yet)

Also, the alignment is not exactly correct, the rear end needs to be broken in, car needs to be tuned, etc.

Someone mentioned to me that there is a show up in the Bay Area around June 1st that is usually somewhere else, but for whatever reason it's at De Anza college this year.  That's about 4-miles from my home, so I think it will be there next.

The show is open to the public as soon as the public shows up. There were people there at 4:30 AM. The swap opens before the show cars are all in place. They ask that the show cars are all situated by 10:00 but any Joe Schmo can mosey in at any time.
Nice car. Someone said you turned down a huge cash offer?

Oh OK, I thought I remember reading that it wasn't open to the public until 10.  It was busy for a 2-3 hour period from 11 to 2.

There were four people that asked about buying it, but a couple seemed to just want to know ballpark what I'd be asking for it.  For those guys I just tried to convey that it wasn't for sale.

The other couple guys did mention some numbers, but I had no interest selling it the first day I was able to drive it.

Very, very nice. You must be thrilled.

If you don't mind me asking, how did you get the hood pad to mold to the understructure?

It was pre-molded. Also, used metal clips as opposed to the aftermarket plastic ones.

Yeah, I'm really happy with it. Would have been nice if it were completely finished before taking it in, but other than that, couldn't be happier with it.

Amazing looking!  :drool5:  Black with the red strip has always been one of my favorite combos.

Hope to see it at the De Anza show.   :2thumbs:  We need to get all these bay area chargers together for a cruise soon.

Thanks a lot guys for the kind words, much appreciated!

I'm really glad I found this forum prior to getting the car - I've learned a lot from all you guys, and it's helped a ton in making decisions on how to bring this car back.  So thanks to everybody who chimed in along the way!!

Awe Bummer! Oh well you have good cause not to push the Charger back to back weekends when it's not completely ready. Dammit I should've taken that stroll  :brickwall: :brickwall: :brickwall:

That is one beautiful car. The before and after shots are really incredible. I am also looking at plating my AC lines. Hopefully you can start a thread on those as I will be VERY interested. Enjoy that car and be careful driving it as others will be looking instead of driving!!

Nah, I think they'll be too into their texting to see it....

Vegas - I talked to the guy running the De Anza show, and unless for some reason I'm not in town, I'll be there.  And I'll certainly be taking it back to Spring Fling next year.  A lot of great people down at that show!

OK, I dug up a few more w/ the hood down.  (again, wife took these - they really should have been taken w/ no one in the shot)

I also had the one down the side of the car, and one of me driving it out of the show.

Beautiful car!
What happened to the wheels (Motor Wheel Spyders, I think that is the name) that came on the car? Your car would look awesome with those wheels on your car.
