I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

That car is less than an hour away from me
It has been listed off and on for the last couple of years
I used to have a 73 RR black and white clone
Never knew it till long after I sold it that my daughter loved it and ever since I have kept my eye open for another one for her some day
I had sent her the link for that ad 6 months ago after she had got her first real job since getting out of university

I can check it out if the need comes up  :2thumbs:

David, Thanks for the offer and I will probably take you up on it if the car is still available! Right now Kijiji won't let me email the owner and I figure it's too late in the day to call due to the time difference so I'll try to contact him in the morning.

The main thing I want to know is the overall shape. Things like rust during the inspection can mean I can't register or insure the car. Also like to know if it would make the drive back to BC :D

You should be able to email the owner any time

Yeah all I get is:

"Error: unable to send email reply at this moment"

I've tried to two different browsers and on two different computers just in case.  :shruggy:

Did you see this one ?

(posting is giving lots of greif tonight for some reason)

Yeah I seen that one. The only thing that stopped me was the "emails won't be answered". I don't have a lot of time to be on the phone and then trying to tell them my email address to get extra pictures or such can be annoying but that was my back up plan if the road runner didn't work out  :2thumbs:

Just wondering what TLC the car needs? Those couple dents look nasty. My big worry is getting the car inspected to be able to register and insure it without it needed money dumped into it. Don't want to empty my account if I don't have to.  :icon_smile_big:

You're lucky! That 1970 Sublime would be worth $15,000 in that condition  :slap:

"Unrestored" is no longer a drawback, not when the car is nice.  Original becomes more valuable as more and more cars get restored.

So now it all comes down to the '72 Roadrunner or the '70 Satellite.   :2thumbs:

Waiting on a reply about the Roadrunner first. If it sounds all good I'll pay '70 Sublime to go look at the car! Then comes the hassle of getting Hansen's to ship the car if I decide to buy it!

Ok here's the reply back on the email for the '72:

QuoteNo holes in the body whatsoever, surface original rust on undercarriage

I am updating the distributor to a new all inclusive electronic ignition to do away with the firewall electrical components (leaving original equipment mounted for originality)

323 sure grip

Will send pics of engine bay tonight
I would not recommend driving that distance as there are only 46,000 original miles on it and engine has never been touched...would be a shame to lose a rod or something on a numbers matching 43 year old motor (although oil pressure is good with minor lifter noise only)

That says 2 tone paint on the Road Runner, I take it that's paint on the roof instead of a vinyl top!! If so that's not something you see all the time! My buddy had a 71 FC7 Duster like that with the white painted top! Super cool option on that car!! That 70 while cool will never hold it's value as good as that 72 Runner!!

That one looks pretty decent. I have a chance to buy a pretty solid 1971 Satellite for $800....hmmm.....

I don't think I'd go so far as to accept "un-restored" or "original" as the description for a car that has been repainted and had interior work, but it's still a pretty solid looking low, low mile car and numbers matching. The 340 72 cars are pretty low production which is another bonus. Always take a real performance model over a grocery getter - forget the 70.

If you get the car, be sure to have him include the original distributor (that he's yanking out  :slap: ). Hopefully he hasn't done too much more of that type of work on the car.

It might just be the photos but it looks like the rubber trim between the headlights and grille might be missing. If so, it will be impossible to find. Be sure to ask if it's there or not, and if not, if he still has it!

I dont see $15K there, sorry.  :shruggy:

I see about $12k myself and that's it.

Numbers matching 340 Roadrunner that needs no body work, has new paint, new seats, new front end...

The main things I'd need to do are give the engine a good tune up, new dash pad, and new console top. So about $2,000.

That Runner is a nice car, it's worth $15k any day of the week i'd say. The bronze Charger on your other thread isn't anywhere near being in the same league as this Runner IMO and it's $5k more.
