Someone show me the bottom of an original Daytona Stripe...

Or, the stripe on a "correctly" restored car.

Where it meets the bottom of the quarter panels.

Did the vinyl wrap around the bottom edge of the quarter panels, end at the edge, or were they cut off just short of the edge ?  :scratchchin:

I looked years ago when I did mine....all the ones I saw were wrapped under the edge and ended at the sharp edge....but I suppose all the ones I saw could have been wrong also

no help here, as usual....but just raised my post count by one  :2thumbs:

I'm going to attempt to stripe the car this coming Saturday.  :scared:

Yes, I have help coming.  ;)

My job, in the mean time is to figure out how to terminate the ends of this thing. :scratchchin:

I'm hoping someone has a few pictures...

Before I start at page one of Hemi Geno's thread and wade through it all.

 :smilielol: :eek2: :bawling: ::) ;)

I don't think these will be of any help, but you never know.  There are some pretty close to the bottom of the stripes on both original, untouched stripe cars.  But not quite from underneath.

I guess I'm not making myself clear... :shruggy:

I need pictures of the bottom of the quarter panel with the stripe on it.

Pictures taken from below the car looking up at the bottom edge of the quarter panel where it is spot welded to the trunk extension.

How is the stripe terminated where it meets this area of the quarter panel ? (pictured below, note the red arrows) is it cut off before it meets the edge? Wrapped over the edge ? Cut off even with the edge ?

Oh, the humanity!!!   :P

Linky from Page 75

It appears to be cut or positioned just short of the quarterpanel bottom end/edge.  The big thing is to try and center the "DAYTONA" text on the quarterpanel body line.

Thanks Geno !

Just what I needed !

And yes, I've already got the centering thing figured out.

(I made a paper template.)

I'm off to page 75... ;)
