Worth the $13,000?

Guy was $13,000 for it.

318 Automatic runs great, looks awesome

New Edelbrock intake and carb
headers
dual exhaust
rims and tires
rebuilt brakes
body work and paint recently redone

Sadly it appears to be a bench seat column shift with a small 318 otherwise I'd be all over it  :-\

For 13K, if not body work is required and it drives nicely, I'd say its probably worth it. Put another 7 to 10K and for less than 25K you could have a real nice Charger.

$13k  for that...?  I wouldn't do it. Not a chance.  :eek2:

Agreed.

If he wants $13000 he might take $10000
Still just a 318 car
You would really hate to see a car you did want come along and had your money in this one
Well at least it is not a Mustang  ::)
next project 70 Charger FJ5 green

Matthan

nice charger....3rd gens just don't get enough love.

Homerr

Obviously the seller hasn't learned yet that it's proper etiquette to lose vast amounts of money on a restoration.

HANDM

The 318 cars are what make this hobby affordable to most of us....... that being said, $13,000 is a bit steep

ODZKing

I would agree, BUT if there is not much to do to get it back to right ... maybe there is some wiggle room.  :yesnod:

IF you had to have a 3rd gen.....maybe the deciding factor would be the condition of the interior and what the bottom looks like.   $$ add up quick if you have to replace the whole inside, and suspension, exhaust, etc..

:iagree: that adds up quickly

My opinion is invalid since i dont care too much for 3rd gens. But if it is a running and driving restored car, then i dont see why the asking price is too steep. The seats and shifter are easy things to change as is a big block swap. But 318's can be made to scream. If the body and paint are clean it seems fair. I just wouldnt buy it cause its not me

73rallye440magnum

I sold my non numbers U-code Top Banana '73 rallye for nearly half that in 2010. Amateur resto by me. Pic in sig. Bulge hood, rallye cluster, mint dash, grille, taillights... Nice driver.

This car is not worth $13k.

Based on just those pictures, then no.
I'd have to see more to justify $13K.   :popcrn:

If it was a 71-72 Hell yea.  However, 73-74 Chargers will never get much love. (except for Nacho). :icon_smile_big:

moparsr2fast

Maybe if it had a power bulge hood, modded 440, and a 4 speed..

No 3rd gen's worth more then about $2000. Ok a 71 hemi 4 speed maybe $3000.  And the 2nd gen's... fun to paint orange , but they drive like S**t.   Yea get a modern Charger.   :nana:

RallyeMike

Maybe $7000-8000 if the body work and paint are right, what the interior look slike, and if you really want that type of car.
That's the reality of a 73-74 318 car.

I also sold my 74 U-code Rallye, very nice driver, NOM, in that range about 3 years ago and was happy to get it. There is just not a lot of value in the 73-74 cars. You may see them advertised at high prices, but they don't sell at those prices.

its a nice lookin car but because we have the best chargers with manly BIG BLOCKS, the others cant live up to the hipe, its like sleeping with a model and then pickin up a big ole girl at the all u can eat bbq joint, it just aint right

that being said i paid $10k for my 69 in pieces 6 years ago and still trying to get it on the road, there somethin to be said about buying a car you dont need to do Everything to

$7,400 USD = $8,165.90 Canadian

After taxes is $9,554.10

Then add the $2,300 to have the car shipped here....

:brickwall:

I don't care about paint but I don't want to deal with rust. I also want to get away from small block engines as well if I can although the only reason I might ever consider that '74 is because it was a nice looking Charger  :2thumbs:
