I have a 1969 with a HP 383 with a 4 barrel carburetor. Will the timing adjusted to high on the engine cause a fast or high idle? Also will it cause the engine to have a high temperature causing heat soaked starter?

Back N Black

If you advance the timimg it will raise the idle, you have to adjust the idle speed after you set the timimg.
Heat soaked Starter is usually caused by headers being too close to starter. If you have hedders you may want to wrap with insulation.
