Driver in pick-up tailgates a female driver for a long time....He passes on the right and he is flipped the bird, just a few seconds later he crashes his truck.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3XqZoaWKv2k

Media reports Florida Highway Patrol arrested the driver and charged him with leaving the scene of a crash. "He kept spinning his wheels but couldn't get out," witnesses said. The driver of the truck had friends pull him out with a tow chain. He fled the scene before law enforcement officers arrived.  Witnesses took a picture of the license plate and gave it to police who later arrested him.

Plenty of blame to go around on both sides.   Situation could have been easily diffused by both parties.

If she had time to film it, she had time to pull over and let the idiot in the truck go.

Excellent point!  In the video it seems the female driver taunted him by taking the video...possibly making a bad situation worse.  :scratchchin:  However, it looks like the dude purposely cut her off prior to him crashing....I wonder what led up to all this?  :shruggy:

The guy was a dick for sure but the other driver was equally a dick, maybe more so, for using the fast lane as her own personal lane. People like that woman bring the wrath of other upon themselves because of their own self righteousness.

After watching again I realized something.... she was probably planning this. Notice how she took a moment to capture her speed on video, and took her sweet old time passing the two trucks, essentially boxing-in the driver behind her... :brickwall:

It doesn't show, but she might have returned the finger when he passed her...which would only enrage him further.  Based on other things like her reflective road crew/construction worker vest on the passenger seat and her scraggly two-pack-a day voice, she certainly doesn't appear to be such a sweetheart does she?  :rotz:

That's just it.   How long did this go on before she decided to get out the camera?   We are only getting part of the story.

He should have just rear-ended her, poor judgment on his end  :rotz:

It's funny because the dork didn't hit a pedestrian or something.

Somebody blocked him & flipped him off - so he threw a 5000-lb truck across an intersection hard enough to slide for dozens of yards before coming to a stop.

I didn't see a speed limit in the video, so no idea if she was in the right or wrong. She did pass at least 1 truck, so I take it she was doing the speed limit or speeding or at least driving faster than those in the right lane. That said, I see where she did nothing wrong. Her filming him is not illegal. The road she was on may be fine for driving in as a normal lane. The left lane law is normally for highways. That had a normal left turn lane in it right where he blasted through.

So just because someone tailgates doesn't make him right. And her filming it could be simply because he was tailgating her!!

In the end I see that he tailgated her and then tried to run her off the road. I didn't see anything wrong with her driving as far as the video shows.

Right, wrong, or taunting but she's doing 58 mph and concentrating on filming behind her so how is she paying attention to her own driving?  Might as well be texting.

Mike DC

BTW, how in the hell do you get a camera that records an image in that shape?  Was she holding the thing sideways or something?

Cooter

Now we talkin. Speed limit isn't just for the right lane. Karma's a bitch. Dude brought it on himself. She clearly filmed the mph to prove her point.
speeders beware, there are more of these types out there....You might as well slow down. Everybody has to share the road. It doesn't belong to you just because you wanna drive like Richard Petty. She's doing like 45-50 mph and clearly 'overtaking' other cars who are slower in the right lane. Where does it end? If she hadda been doing 70, there'd be some douche up her ass. Only thing this proved was it ain't just yankees in SUV's.

To me they were both wrong. Even though there is a speed limit, most impeding laws state "flow of traffic" and not "speed limit". I'm guessing she was just above the speed limit and staying there just to antagonize him. Both should have a ticket.

God must love stupid people; He made so many.

Left lane lingering? videotaping a driver with a cellphone from behind the wheel?   :shruggy: thats just provoking in my book  :shruggy:

The more I read here...., the less respect I have towards Miss Cackling Bitch.  :flame:

She showed zero concern or compassion for the other drivers safety or well being after the accident.  Instead she just laughed and said "that's what you get". Really??  He was clearly wrong to cut her off but I don't think he "deserved" to wreck his truck either. What if he rolled it? - which could have happened very easily. He could have been badly injured. What if he struck oncoming traffic and the results were deadly?   How would she like to live with that on her conscience! :'(

Her "cackling" proves she thought this accident was funny. There's nothing funny about causing an accident. :fu:

Dude was driving like a dick but how hard is it to get over for 2-5 seconds for someone to pass instead of being an obese moose and deciding to film the guy. I think she was instigating the situation and should be charged with it.  It don't matter how fast I'm going, if I have someone on my ass and there's a lane to the right of me I will get over and let speed racer go by. :2thumbs:

I do it all the time even when I'm doing 80.... If someone wants to go faster than me, I happily let them. :icon_smile_wink:

Yeah but unlike you, and some of us, many people on the roads or wherever they may be are simply spoiling for a fight, to exert themselves over others at all cost...

I'm thinking this direction.
Too many unknowns. What exactly is the posted speed limit? She passed two trucks in the right lane that were following one another. Was she next to them the whole time? It's not shown in the whole video what is/is not next to her. If she had the chance then YES she should have moved over. However, but the time there was an opening (at least visible in the video), the pissed dude was already next to her. Only he is to blame at this point cutting her off & losing control of his truck. Best thing he could have done was to have simply passed her, and moved over again when clear. He clearly broke the law on several counts: tailgating, passing on the right, wreckless/careless driving, etc.

But yeah she was a bitch by laughing about it.  :yesnod:

I'm guessing the reflective vest hanging on her passenger seat wasn't from her school crossing guard job.....LOL.  :smilielol:
