Torque strap

I am looking for a torque strap for my motor and was wondering what type you all are using? Any recommendations? Am not looking to use a chain. thanks. lw

There is a good read on avoiding broken motor mounts on the top of this column of which I will probably do on my next build, as far as a torque strap I took my complete motor mount into our local ace hardware type store and had them build me a cable that was just long enough to match up with the bolts on the motor mount, you can hardly see it after it's installed and haven't had a broken mount in years.

Thanks for the replies guys. On the Schumacher set up, did you have to drill holes to mount the lower bracket?

Yes just line the link instructions I posted say you have to.

If you don't want to add a tq strap this is the way to go.  :2thumbs:

Been doing them this way for years and the latest set has been holding up fine to lots of abuse  :icon_smile_big:

I can tell you with certainty that the tq strap is not as strong as the modified mount outlined in the link above....seen a few busted tq straps with much less power than my current 572 is making  ;)
