steering coluimn rebuild?

Good Day all!

Im interested in rebuilding my original steering column. About a couple of years ago I purchased an aftermarket steering column with tilt.  As I attempted to install, I compared mounting brackets and found that I dont want to go the route of modifying anything so that the aftermarket will work.  So now I want to rebuild mine.  Anyone have info to share on how to go about it.  parts needed ect.  Diagram I have is pretty vague.
