Is the 3 speed wiper switch grounded?

Does any one know if the 3 speed wiper needs to be grounded and if so how was it done.  (the car is a 73 Charger SE).
Ever since I installed my new plastic aftermarket 6-gauge dash cluster, the wiper motor does not work correctly.  The old cluster did have a metal backing, but no schematic that I have shows a ground on the switch.

yes, needs to be grounded. Is in fact chassis grounded
