Im havING trouble getting the NEW brake cable through the backing plate.
Does anyone have an idea what I should do?  The heavy rubber seems thicker than the original parts and it was about 8 years ago when I torn it down, so I really don't know what I need to do.

HELP......TIA!

IIRC didn't the originals have some sort of metal collar with prongs that snapped in place to hold it in?  :scratchchin:

Do you have your originals to compare? Do the new ones fit OK with the exception of the grommet?
Have you tried using soap or tire dressing as a lube to get them to fit? Sometimes that helps.

Thanks for the suggestions Bill!

the originals do have the prongs and the new ones do to a lesser degree along with a much bigger grommet.
