Is there a way of adjusting the bands in my transmission.  I have a 73 Charger with a 440/727.  When I drive away from a stop, there is a slip between 2nd and 3rd gear.  This happens during regular use, not stomping on the gas pedal.  I have a way to avoid it, but I would like to fix it.  Yes, I have checked the fluid level and it is good.  Any suggestions?  I'm hoping it does not involve removing it from the car.

First, be sure the TP (kickdown) linkage is hooked up and adjusted properly.

The video in the link below shows how to adjust the kickdown band, if you don't have an inch-pound torque wrench just tighten the stud snug with a short wrench.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Thank you.  I will give this a try.
