I'd love to see it, likely an early print piece well before production.

Discussion pertains to the Daytona, not the Charger 500.

At the time that was penned (April 1969), the design of the car was a moving target and had not quite been finalized.

hemikev

Yes I know, but thought interesting as its in a book called   Scat  the Dodge Scat Pack Performance Story  ,, as far as I know  this book never made it to print .  covers all scat cars for 69..  interesting piece though.

Ghoste

Be very interesting.  Maybe someone needs to bring it to print? ;)

If it is April 1969 and in draft form, this was intended for 1970.   There was the multi page 1970 Scat City performance brochure, which included the Daytona.  The Daytona was the only car not marked as a 1970 model in that piece.

hemikev

how does 1 do that  ,  interesting reading for sure

That is the one.

hemikev

I would normally agree    this thing is like 40-50 pages   mentions 1969 cars only  like the dart 340 and GTS dart383   ...Also has the hippie poam ( if that's what you call it ) called    FEVER

Aero426

After you posted the Lift off page on Facebook, yes this stuff is for 69 1/2.

Aero426

They mention Frank Wylie who was head of Dodge performance, and Dale Reeker who was in product planning.

hemikev

I didn't know who they were  , but sounds kool they were mentioned,,,do you know of a paul galvin .

TUFCAT

Lots of materials developed by ad agencies never see the light of day by the public.

hemikev

its very weird they would be working on a booklet  ?  half way through the model year ,  unless they had been workin on it and decided to shelf it

Ghoste

Rather than wait for Dodge to commission things, I'm sure the agency is always pitching for them to run something.

Like this...

Now that's strange ,  very wierd

Aero426

It's very Sheriff Joe Higgins, or like dialogue from a sketch on the old Carol Burnett show.   Not at all out of character for the times.
