Edelbrock Heads

Ordered a set of heads in January and they are still on back order, called several other vendors and they tell me the same thing. Have heads ordered from Edelbrock and are waiting on delivery.

Anybody know what the issues is?

Which Edelbrock Head part # did you try to order ?

5090, 5093, 60825, 60925, 60185, 60829, 60929, 60189 ?
or,
was it a Victor series part # ?

The 60175 65CC Head is for use with the early positive(above) deck Piston 340 Engines, and provides a .060" recessed Chamber for that particular Pistons clearance requirements, and supplied with Hydraulic Roller compatible Valve Springs.


What year is your 340 ?
Is your Engine is a '68 to 1970 factory 340 Engine that has never been rebuilt or modified and still has those factory above deck pistons ?
or,
a later 1971.. 1972 340 with the lower below deck Piston ?
or,
a rebuilt engine with aftermarket or new Pistons ?

My point being... if your Engine is rebuilt with new Pistons.... or has any of the factory post '71 Pistons in it.... the 60175 Head is the WRONG HEAD to be ordering anyways ??
You should be using the 60775 Head to provide adequate and required quench !!

engine is a 73 and I based my heads decision based on talking to Edelbrock and I am going to full Hyd. roller cam and lifters, w/1.5 adjustable RR's.

Sounds like what I thought was a sound choice, is not.
