PST Polyurethane Front sway bar mounts?!

So the front sway bar mounts appear nothing like the OEM mounts, and will not properly allow me to attach the swaybar to the K member.  See below pic for my frustrations... The bar makes contact with the k member if I try to get the mount even close to where you would think shoud go, but in keeping with the original mounting position the bracket only lines up with one of the original holes

I will have to call them on Monday and find out what the fix is, or how the hell they mocked this thing up on a 69 charger suspension to make it work.

Try mounting the middle brackets first and end links last.

Not happening that way either...  There is just no way that those mounts work the same as the OEM mounting bracket did.

those sway bar mounting clamps , are for an aftermarket sway bar ,  you need a extra bracket each side to make them work  :yesnod:
have them on  mine  ! although with a 1-1/8 " adcco   sway bar  , from PST :yesnod:

Thanks brother!  I will check out PSTs bar too... They gave me a military discount last time I ordered.

No need to order a whole new sway bar kit, that is unless you want to upgrade the bar as well.
You need the adapter brackets. Mancini carries a kit, perhaps they sell just the brackets separately.

Yup, these aftermarket bars require either bolting or welding onto the K-member to mount the bars.

I don't know about the PST bar, but what I don't like about the Hotchkis bar is that the bar adapters are only half-way attached to the K-member.

sanders7981

I agree, but if you were to weld that bracket on, along with bolting it down, it would add more piece of mind... To me at least.

the pst bracket is sort of like that !! about 2 thirds are on the kframe

see mine below , did think about welding them & even extending the edge of the kframe to match the bracket , but  nothing is ever concrete with me , & always changing stuff ,

I actually got the stock poly bushings for the OEM sway bar bracket at first from PST , before I went to thicker sway bars ! ( that's a job in its self fitting bushings to stock brackets  :icon_smile_blackeye: )

Mine have been on my '68 for at least 15 years with no problems. Stock bar.  :yesnod:

Bill, do these brackets bolt onto the stock kmember w/o any drilling required??   I am guessing no, but I do not have my car anywhere close to me to check...
