MOPAR Engine builder needed North Carolina

I need a 440 motor rebuilt.  It is a mild HP upgrade with almost all 440 source parts (new).  I am in Fayetteville, NC and our town does NOT have any good MOPAR engine builders (that I am aware of anyway).  I am willing to drive 50-100 miles away to get my engine done.  Thats like North of Raleigh, NC - down to Myrtle beach SC.  I would appreciate any suggestions.  Thanks

Wasn't there a guy named Petty up in Level Cross who use to dabble in Mopars?

A little father away than you'd like maybe, but Arrington motorsports in Martinsville will build you an awesome engine.  Their engine shop is first rate and have been specializing in Mopars since the 1960s.

Good one.  :2thumbs:

I googled it, Level Cross is 154 miles away, the poster doesn't want to go that far.  :icon_smile_wink:

to go that

Level Cross is just south of Greensboro, so no way 154 miles.  More like 60 or so from Fayetteville.  I grew up in NC not far from there.  At any rate, if necessary, consider shipping your engine.  Well worth it in my opinion and not as expensive as you think.  Put it on a pallet, strap it down, put some plywood around it and you're golden.  The trucking company will come right to your residence.  I've had this done for a little over $400.00 both ways.
Consider also HP Engines down in Norwood, just east of Charlotte 35 miles or so. Phone 704-474-0109  Hollis Page the owner recently competed in one of the Mopar Muscle engine challenges and did very well.

From LaRoy Engines in Idaho, here is another vote for Hollis Page if you're looking in NC. We ran against him in the Mopar Muscle Engine Challenge and I was impressed with his work.

Here is a quick update on my 440 motor rebuilder search.  After getting ripped off by a local "engine rebuilder" in Fayettevile, I scooped up what was left after he "lost" several components and headed to Hollis Page. Hollis was nice enough to meet me and my friend Daniel on a Sunday at his shop.  It is tucked away in the middle of nowhere.  When he opened his shop, i was pleasantly surprised. The shop was so clean, organized and lack any clutter.  The floors were super clean and looked like a MOPAR operating room!!  Hollis was super nice, pent 2 hours talking to us and going over what I had and what I wanted for my sons 440. His knowledge was impressive. He told me it would take 4+ weeks to get it done and I cant wait to hearit run!

One word of caution to anyone wanting to contact Hollis:  he doesn't do computers .  No email, and barely answers the phone.  So he can be difficult to get ahold of.....

I will keep y'all posted on the progress

I got my motor back from Hollis and he did a great job!  His service was awesome.  I liked his work so much, i brought him another motor to do.  I highly suggest using Hollis for your motor needs.

PS;  His cousin does transmissions and another cousing does pro street torque converters!

10-4 on the pics when re-installed.  It may be a few months depending on body shop. I might take a picture of the motor tranny on the trolley.  It is so nice looking with the aluminum heads and TTI headers!
