power steering pump mounting

Can anyone post a picture of how the power steering pump mounts onto the engine "horns" on a 68 383? Mine is a A/C car, and the bracket that hold the A/C pump up terminates on the top hole for the power steering pump mounting location which makes it too wide for the power steering pump brackets to slide over the outside, and the long bolt to go through (does that make sense?).
A photo of a mounted power steering pump on an A/C 68 383 would clear up how it is supposed to mount for me.

Yup, that picture does help. I am assuming there must be some sort of spacer on the bottom attaching bolt to make up for the thickness of the upper bracket overlapping the A/C bracket?
Also, do you know where he got the throttle bracket that worked with the performer carb? My throttle cable and kickdown arm are out of whack now that I added the performer onto my 383. I did add the chrysler connection conversion kit from Edelbrock for where the throttle cable and kickdown linkage connect to the carb, but my rear bracket does not line up the kickdown rod or the throttle cable well at all now, even though it is a 4 bbl bracket. The Edelbrock must be wider than a standard 4 bbl carb from in the day? Any idea where I can get one of these throttle brackets?

Looked at my pump again and I have different brackets than your friends has; I found this picture that shows the type I have. Is there a different bracket for an A/C car? Maybe this pump is from a non A/C car.
Can I buy the right brackets and reuse the pump? I didnt disassemble my car so I cant confirm for sure it is original to the car.

You can see why I cant figure out how the bracket can overlap with thew A/C support bracket on the top mounting point on the engine.

Seem to recall a thread on moparts that had plenty of detail pics on a 68 383 with a/c and p/s. There is ALOT of bracketry with that setup!

I will have to see if I can find any tear down pictures for you. It has been 10 years now, but I think the bolt goes through the A/C bracket first then the P/S bracket. I am 95% sure it is the same P/S bracket. It is the only A/C car I have worked on.

All of the carb linkage is stock. Intake looks stock painted but it was a MP intake.

Anybody else got a picture of the power steering mount on a big block A/C  car?

Aaargh!!!!! I fix one problem and create another. I loosened the mounting bolts on the a/c pump and was able to slide the mounting bracket for the p/s pump under it as it should go. Mounting problem solved right? Wrong!
I now have a pulley/belt alignment issue. The pulley on the p/s pump is directly in line with the 2nd belt from the a/c/alternator belt. I have a 4 groove pulley on my crank, and according to my shop manual the front groove is for the fan, 2nd for the p/s pump, and the back 2 for the alternator/a/c.
Anyone got any ideas what my problem is, and more importantly what to do about it?

Someone today suggested to me that they thought that there was a different pulley for the A/C car that was deeper which would make thge alignment work. Anybody know anything about that?

Actually, I had a similar issue with my non A/C car. When I bought the car, I noticed that one of the previous owners had installed shims between the PS pump bracket and the upper stud on the water pump housing. After some research and help from a friend, it turned out that two different WP housings were used. If the car had A/C, the upper stud on the WP housing was about an inch SHORTER, to make room for the A/C pump bracket. In my case, I had to replace the WP housing with a "non A/C" housing (with the longer stud) to get rid of the ugly shims.

Maybe you have the non A/C WP housing where the stud is too long? Could it be the case?

OK, I have had a few beers so I just might be seeing silly, but where is the water pump pulley?  :scratchchin:

Sorry I could not find any better photos.
