Trying to figure out kick panel. Piece on left is for driver side. Does it need more insulation or is that it. The piece on the right, is it for the passenger side kick panel or something that was supposed to go behind dash? Is it supposed to be glued to the kick panel. I am not sure on the orientation of the piece on the right?

Probably firewall?   :shruggy:

Looks like a piece of the firewall insulation.

My left and right both had thick fiberglass insulation behind them.

I was hoping you wouldn't say that since my dash is in and so is the window. :flame:

The piece on the left, drivers side piece, is correct the way it lays. The insulation piece is not glued to mine, it just slides into place with the panel.

The other piece is a mystery to me.  :shruggy:

If it were me, I would put the left side piece on the way it is, and then take the piece on the right and throw it away..missing that little piece is not worth loosing sleep over and you won't notice any noise difference anyway

You know, you can probably get that piece of insulation in place still.  If it's an A/C car it may be a bit tougher though.

Dino, are you saying it goes behind the heater box? I'm tending to agree with A383. I live in Calif. where it doesn't get cold to often. As far a noise I'm running flowmasters so if it's for noise it doesn't matter to much anyway. thanks. lw

No, what I meant is that on A/C cars you don't have a ton of room to get under the dash and to the firewall.  Still doable but it makes it a bit harder.  The insulation piece is small, it's not going to make much of a difference regardless so you can just as well leave it off.  Stick your head under the dash, see what needs to be done and make the call!   :2thumbs:

I remember , removing( & chucking away  :P )  a piece like that each side , when  removed & repaired my original dash harness , 24ish years ago , sure it was  in this sort of position , see below !!  think I save some pictures, off the net  :scratchchin:  will have a look  :scratchchin: ,   one part of it sort of tucks in to the hole for the upper  door hinge bolts from memory

I believe you are correct, it goes above the kick panel as you have it pictured, I just look mine out last week.

I think the mystery pad is for the pass side.
