Thanks for that. I am a regular over there as well as here and I missed it. I emailed to get in line for one. It sucks that I spent $160 for the 3/8" turd I have now. I bought it in 2002 from Year One and it has never read right.

Troy,

Problem with that other thread is that we can't post questions in it. It's locked to all but mods and the author?..

Seems like a bummer to have to PM/email him questions when asking them in the open could lower his repeat question traffic.

Hi John,
As soon as we have 100 people interested, we will inform everyone and we can get deposit at that time. Until then, just hang tight and hope we get that response. As of now, we have about 40 people interested.
Thanks!

This IS great news indeed. I'd really like to see the finished product & know accuracy before committing. Will they perform like the originals? Will they have the pentastar & markings like the originals?  :scratchchin:
If so, I'd be interested in at least one.  :2thumbs:

Sounds to me like at least 100 people will have to take a leap of faith in order for the rest to "look at" the sending units.

I just spoke with Lea from Dixie Restorations (my email kept getting kicked back so I had to call).  She said that they have the required number of orders now and are just waiting for some questions to be answered by the manufacturer.  We should all be hearing about deposits, etc. soon.

Gentlemen,

I'm excited to get this order placed and good working products in your hands. Please be sure you send an email directly to us with the quantity and type of unit you need. My wife is managing the list.

Currently, I'm waiting on some logistical information from the manufacturer. Once I have that confirmed, I'll post here and email everyone individually that has emailed us. This will be your last chance to say yea or nay to prior to placing the order. I don't want any hidden surprises for any of us.

Please feel free to go ahead and mail your deposit's to us now. $40 per unit. We do not accept pay pal, please mail a check or money order for the deposit. Credit cards can be used for the remainder due once they arrive.

No Paypal, well that's thousands of B body owners outside of the US that you are missing out on. I would have been in for one and I'm sure there would be many more just here in Australia.

Yep, still waiting. I'm small fish to them. A few hundred units compared to tens of thousands ordered by the oem's. If you've paid a deposit and want it back, just let us know. We'll get it out asap. I thought we would be done by now or I would not have asked for the deposit's when I did.

Once I have the final details, I'll post them here and you can make a decision to participate or not based on those details. One big issue is how they'll handle warranty claims. I want to be sure we all understand that before we go forward.

As far as the foreign guys, once I post the final details, email us and we'll see what we can work out on Paypal for you, if you pay the fees.

Thanks guys, I know it's a pain to wait, but it will be worth it.

I know I'll want one if they are going to do it like they did the originals.  If its a one time deal maybe even a spare.

Guys, just as an FYI, I quit making these originally because I couldn't compete with the cheap overseas reproductions. I still have other applications available, but the ones that ran out first were the E-body and 68-70B in 3/8". My last production run was somewhere around 2008, if that tells you how slow they moved after the Chinese ones were introduced. Again, I have many 63-65B in 3/8" or 5/16" and 67-76 A in 3/8" and 66-67B and 71-4B in 3/8", all from that last run. Some of the guys on Moparts asked me if I'd do another production run, which I agreed to if we could meet the minimum quantity required. Which we did.  But, I won't be stocking any. I'm too small to put a few hundred on the shelf and hope I sell a few a year. So, I'd recommend you get any extras you think you might want on this run. Sometime in the future if enough people want to do another run, I'd consider it, but who knows how that will play out.

Its too bad it turned out that way.  The Chinese stuff in this case certainly proved the old adage about cheap and better.

I heard about these new sending units as well from RedLine Gauge Works, being made by the same manufacturer Mopar used in the 60's/70's.  RedLine referred me to Kramer Auto who has them on their site for $119.  I just installed it and my fuel gauge read full when full.  What a concept!  Looks like this reproduction thorn in our sides is finally removed.  My gauge used to only go to 3/4 full when the tank was full, and when it read empty it would typically have ~5-6 gallons left in it.  Now it reads correctly.

I was just about to do that and came back over to this page and saw hat Banana Dan had actually posted the link.  I will probably grab one from them and when Dixie gets theres grab a couple extras.  It never hurts!
