Hey guys/gals, Just became a Mopar guy and bought myself a new project. 1974 Dodge Charger SE 400 special edition #'s matching.

Its Gold/Brown, White vinyl roof White interior buckets.
Its 99% all there and look forward to Sharing the built process with all you and really excited to have knowledgeable Mopar guys to answer my 3rd gen quetions that im gonna have.

This thing is gonna be a hell of a car when Im done with it, Trust me.

Looks like a pretty decent car.  What's the plans for your build?

Call me Crazy but this is what im going to try in pull off in 2 months.. Plum crazy purple, Satin black Custom Graphics, Remove Vinyl roof, New Quarter Panels, Trunk floor , and some unique custom options that arnt stock. Maybe do a widebody on the back when installing new Quarters

always been partial to the white vinyl  top myself , makes the purple "pop"

Agreed, I originally never liked vinyl roofs. But this in White with the Purple really does pop your right..
But then again the more I look at the car eventualy the freaken Gold/brown is starting to look good too.lol Opinions welcome.

My personal opinion being around these cars a lot, is if you're using the SE Opera quarter windows I would definitely go with a vinyl top. I'm not a vinyl top guy either but the 73-74 SE Chargers are a must. I've seen too many SE cars that got the remove vinyl top and smooth over treatment and it looks like crap. Those louver windows were meant to contour with a vinyl treatment, wreath and moldings alike. I like purple with a white top.

VegasCharger, thanks for the input. Im leaning towards leaving the Vinyl on as its in great shape. A fresh coat of white vinyl paint, and It will be nice to keep it original. I could be kicking myself down the road if i removed it.
