Doesn't happen that often that your stolen car gets returned in a better condition than when it was stolen.  Glad he got it back.

My daughter sent me a more detailed article on this.  It seems that the car had three or so different owners since the theft.  The Calif. DMV got snowed by either the thief or one of the early owners and issued a clear title for it.  It's most likely that the seller of the car had no idea that it was a stolen car.  I'd go after the DMV for their incompetence in issuing a title for a known stolen car.

:iagree: There was a Camaro in Las Vegas awhile back, with the same issue.

I wonder how far back down the chain they were able to get looking for the original thief??

I am sure that the BUYER had no idea and is now probably out one hell of a lot of money. So where did the seller get the car?   I'd love to hear more on this story...

The article didn't go into anymore detail.  I'd love to know the rest of the story also....
