Is this still running? Can't find it anywhere.

Ghoste

The site is down but you can still register cars.  The site is long long long overdue for being back up.  Soon, everyone has heard that before now but patience, soon.

Thank you ghoste... Trying decode this fender tag. X9?? Is that the color of stripe. I have most of these number memorized, but can't remember if it's stripe or vinyl top?

This website has a decoder for the fender tag.  :2thumbs:

Ghoste I plan to register my 69 when you get the site up and running. No rush though, it's been under construction for 10 years so it's a very patient car.

Cool.  The database is still operating and getting cars added just so you know.  It's just happening behind the scenes sort of right now.  ;)

Sorry I don't mean to be a dummy but what's the registry all about?

Its a record of 69 Charger VINs first of all just to try and document as many of them as possible.  Secondly, where we can we try to get fender tag or even broadcast sheet info and as much history of the car as available.  That does two things, it helps us to better understand how these acrs were built and without information such as the Marti Reports the Ford guys have or the Pontiac Historical, this is as close as we can get to being able to tell people how the car came originally.
Going down the road as people change things and rebody cars and so on, the true history of them can become lost.  The Shelby Registry and the Ferrari ones do an excellent job of tracking cars but they have been long established and with great factory records to start with.  I can't predict the 69 Charger values in the future but I don't think they are any less important than a Shelby or California Spyder.

Well that sounds pretty cool! I will private message you with my Vin number should I include my fender tag as well?

If you have your broadcast sheet send that along as well.

Ghoste, - what was/is your stance on collecting images of the car along with the other data?

The broadcast sheet? Was that the paper that was said to be under the back seat or under the drivers seat? Is the build sheet the same thing? I'm going to have to go on a treasure hunt  :icon_smile_big:

Yes, the term "Broadcast" and "Build" Sheet are interchangeable.   This is what it looks like in 68':

When I was actively running it, I did save any & all images of any car that I registered for the most part.  Sometimes, along with the registry entries I used to get from the site, the owners would forward pics (car, fender tag, BS etc)

Shawn, one day I can mail you a flash drive of all he pics I have....never thought to do that until now :rotz:
