I did this for fun to test a few of my friends and family and thought you guys might enjoy doing the same. It's pretty basic knowledge for people like us but I find it interesting to see how much we take for granted that is nowhere near common knowledge to others. Anyway, enjoy.

Here's quiz #2 for you big-talkin' hot shots. :nana: This one's tougher and covers more ground. Good luck!

Yeah, and I didn't really want it to be except I don't retain enough 1st and 3rd gen knowledge to ask questions about them with much authority.

I missed the length question. My 68 Road Runner is 17 feet and some inches long, so I missed guessed the Charger at being 18 feet. Grill and latch tray distances from core support sure seems a lot longer.

Might make one my self about BB motors.

Thanks for the quiz

I knew some 68s were used so the question was specified to ask what year Charger was "depicted" in the DOH. In other words the GL was supposed to be, or made to look like, a 1969 in the show, even though other years were used. Did I uderstand you correctly?

Um kinda, according to the story of the dukes , the general lee was a black 1968 charger modified by 2 bank robbers, it was totaled in a police chase and bought by the the dukes who turn it into the general lee, theres a line that the junkyard owner who sells them the car refers to it as a 68  :shruggy:

I guess I wasn't trying to get that nuanced with it. I was just going by the depiction on the TV show. :2thumbs:

Not to hijack here but, Baldwinvette77 you are on the right track. In the episode "Happy Birthday General Lee" the "Yard Manager" (character title that appears in the credits) says "beat up black 68 coupe". He is referring this to the bank robbers as they went to claim their car after breaking out of jail. Bo & Luke had already bought the car in a previous scene. All the screen shots here indicate as a 69 model with the exception of what appears to be a round marker light hole in the driver front fender in the scene where Bo & Luke are towing it from the junkyard. However in that same scene you will see it has 69 tail lights. Also at the end of the episode when they won the race you'll see that the General Lee has '68 seats in it.

The intent was the Charger to be a 69 model, weather or not that the old man says 68 on scene is in the script or not is yet to be determined. Did the director not catch it? Bad editing? Was the script purposely intended for him to say "68" ? Keep in mind that this was season 7 episode 1 that the story was a flashback. By then it was well known by the audience as it being a 69 Charger.

So in a way Baldwinvette77 is correct but the TV show meant for it to be a 69 Charger.

BTW I got 90% I missed the 2nd question about the 200 mph. I chose the
69 Charger 500  :brickwall:

Isn't the 69 Charger the same length as the 68 - making it 208 inches?  It's late and I've been drinking (shocker!) but doesn't that make it 17' 4"?

Sorry to nitpick, cool quiz.  Yes very 2nd gen specific - it's the only way I could have gotten them all correct.
