A friend called me about this really nice 5th Avenue. It has 38,135 miles and looks brand new in the original wrapper. Not a spot of rust, dings, chips, or dirt anywhere.

What do you guys think a mint survivor like this is worth?  :scratchchin:

Not sure on the price but I will say one thing they do jump railroad grades very nicely at 80 mph when your 16 years old!!!  :icon_smile_big:
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

I would say $2,000 to $2,500......just hope it does not have the air-ride front suspension......those special struts are very expensive

bill440rt

$4K absolute tops. $2500-$3500 more realistic.

Now that's big pimpin', Tuffy. What are you hittin' in that?  ;)

It doesn't have air ride, and ...I don't think these cars ever did? :scratchchin:

ODZKing

Hey ... that's Mike Ehrmantraut's car

I'd buy it just for that!

yea, they did...and parts are not available aftermarket...dealer only....I had one at our shop..was a 33,000 mile car...leather everything....right front was bad

According to what I read on AllPar, it was an option in later years.  There was also a K car version of the Fifth in those years. M body. Many had the (what I called L-shape) tortion bar.
Or the official name Independant, lateral, non parallel control arms with transverse tortion bars.
It was basically a Diplomat/Lebaron with ALOT of leather and options.
Nice cars though.

It's basically a "K" car on steroids....they do ride nice, but not $4K nice

Not at all related to a K-car....nothing. Think Volare/Aspen. Think rear wheel drive.

Scrap iron price.  I would have a lot of fun with that thing before I hauled it across the scales.   :nana:
1969 Charger 383/auto
1969 Charger R/T 440/auto (waiting to be restored)
1972 Chevelle SS clone 383 sbc
1959 Chevy Apache short bed stepside
1968 Charger (glorified parts car)
Yes, I know I have too many cars. My wife reminds me daily.

Tuffy, not sure if it is a Mark Cross edition or anything special, but NADA is showing high retail at a little over $6200 when equipped with auto trans & A/C.  :o
Average retail is about $4100. This is using a Detroit based zip code.

Barrett Jackson must have written those prices in

TUFCAT

Thanks Bill...and wow!  I haven't seen this car in real life, but with the pictures and mileage you might say its "high retail" worthy.  That's the easy part. The hard part is finding the exact buyer who agrees with the NADA prices.  Now if this car was a Magnum or Mirada it might be a different story... :scratchchin: :icon_smile_wink: :icon_smile_cool:

Ghoste

You just nailed it.  Need to find a buyer who lusted for them new and missed his chance or similar sentiment and that won't be easy.  If you're lucky though, there is a well heeled buyer for every car and somewhere out there someone is sitting around missing 1988 and the Chrysler 5th Ave.

Volare/Aspen was F body. That was M body as I mentiond. (Lebaron/Diplomat) - top
The New Yorker K was different - below

ODZ, there's something wrong the images you posted they don't show up. :scratchchin:

Anyway, you're technically correct.  The 5th Avenue is an "M-body" but it was created from the F-body Aspen/Volare platform, as well as the Lebaron/Diplomat introduced in 1977. The M-body Chrysler 5th Avenue's, and Plymouth Grand Fury's (mostly cop cars) were considered to be excellent vehicles and the strength and durability of the F-body chassis was finally accepted as a great design. It was considered a failure when introduced and plagued with recalls and quality control problems.  Obviously Chrysler got it right!

Not sure why, but I downloaded, resized and reloaded them as files.

It's really a pretty good looking car and in all honesty any car that nice in that condition should be worth anywhere from 25 to 35 I would think. I personally don't have any desire to own one but in all honesty I have given more money for a lot less car.

I'd be willing to bet that would be one SWEAT RIDE!

That's the car that donated it's front discs to my Charger.

The K car version.............................  My Grandfather had one with a turbo.  As a kid sitting in the back I noticed the torque.

Just imagine a bench seat and that velour interior and your special girl with you at the drive in.  Do those seats recline?

Would it be cheap enough to put an overdrive in it?
