I saw a 360 Hemi in a truck one time!

Todd

Big whoopee, there fella. I once put a 360 Hemi-yes 360 Hemi in a '62 Dart wagon (really, no fooling) :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big: :icon_smile_big:

As to the Rarity of the 440 Hemi, you know the factory originals ( not Arruzza) they are actually not that rare, In fact every Corvette owner has heard of them, and has owned 2 or 3 of them. They speak of them openly and in groups to show their wide and vast knowledge of the Dodge family while asking you what a MOPAR is and what it stand for. They also all will claim that they had the first muscle car in 1964, when we all know that they were very very late to that show. Mopar can easily show Muscle starting in 57, and what about the Max Wedge cars. But what really gets me is a Ford guy. What do they have? Mustang?  :D :icon_smile_big:

to me, the first real Muscle car ever was the 63 Sport Fury ( remember is not just about power, but on the right body )... but tell to the rest of the world that, and will be kicked off

Not to throw a monkey wrench into everything... but there was a 440 Hemi.

Stage 5 made Hemi heads that would bolt on a 440.  I know, this isn't stock and I understand the context.  But I saw a 70 Challenger last year with a "440 Hemi" and it was the 440 block with conversion heads.

nice but... just heads ? and what about a correct domed set of pistons ?

Yeah, Ford made a lot of muscle cars, what was I thinking.    :2thumbs:

Ahh the 440 Hemi...They used to be a lot more common.. Now they are getting pretty rare. Case in point. I used to get asked once a week at shows if i had a 440 hemi or even the rarer 383 hemi. But nowadays I don't hear it as much. So they must be harder to find now.. Seems like people now will just say the old slogan from the 2000's commercials "hey that thing gotta hemi??" or they tell me all about the cars they used to have-Just in my area alone you would think MaMopar made a million 69 chargers and 70-74 cudas..
i live in CHARGERLAND.. visitors welcome. 166 total, 7 still around

Do you even own a Charger ?

Moparheaven

Yeah, I own a handful of Chargers, and other Mopar products too. No Ford stuff though. I'm a Mopar or No car kinda Guy. Its not for everyone.

I will leave the Fords for others to fight over.

.100 over 426 hemi is a .030 over 440. Any compression/stroke you want....simple.

Ok, Cool. Its hard to read tone and such in some of these. I have had some Fords in the past, I really miss my 63 Galaxie 500 Convertible. I love the lines on that car. Muscle car it was not. Comfortable it was.

:D :2thumbs:
