Anybody run bias ply tires anymore ?  I grew up with them and Coker tire has N50-15 bias ply 28 in. dia. and tread is 11.5 wide. Where I am going to get a new set on the 500 before it gets HOT I figure these are as close to  vintage stock car size as I can get.

31X18.5x15" Mickey Thompson's. Ride like sh*t, don't handle worth two pinches of puppy sh*t, but all that aside for "the look".

Do they have to be bias ply?

Mickey Thompson SR, H speed rated radials, 28x12x15, get em at Summit, $245 ea.

Cooter that is WAY larger than I can use  26 or 28X 12 X 15 is the limit I can use

No they don't have to be bias ply.  i am looking for a tread pattern close to stock car tires before they went to slicks. Coker  N-50 is close.  I wouldn't rule out Mickey Thompson either.

Highbank, I would think a radial would be ccc lose to that rounded sidewall look of a stick car tire.
Tread will not be "straight tread" like bias though.

Roger Krause can "tread" a slick but they won't get into real complex tread designs. Click on the link above, and open the folder title Cobra. You can slick, treaded tires, d.o.t. race tires in bias and radial carcasses in prices up to around $350 per tire.
