Lately I been googling the new charger and to be honest now the 4 doors do not bother me as much it really has grown through the years and the new SRT8 6.4L really looks badass.  I saw one at night recenlty and I was shocked how good it looked. On that note I need to get some 'cutouts aka dumpers' in my 68 to make it sound meaner  :icon_smile_big:

Its amazing how much different the car looks just with a few retro touches, I like the current generation better than 05 style too.

same here  :yesnod: .... still would rather have a rusted out 2nd gen though

Once you overcome the whole "it's not a Charger,it's four door !" attitude and look at the car for what it is,design, options, performance, etc I think it is an awesome car.I bought a new chally R/T in 09,it was nice, but sold it 7 months later.Being a stick,my wife couldn't drive it,and my kids hated the back seat, they couldn't see anything.
As in previous replies to threads, last summer I bought a 13 Charger R/T Road and Track model, love it !!!!Handling is great, very roomy inside, tons of options/creature comforts, and 27.3 mpg's to boot !!!!!I also sprung for the lifetime bumper to bumper warranty,as I keep all my cars pretty much forever.
If you need or want a family car/sedan and want to mix in some fun factor, what else is out there to choose from ???Hey,as most slam the new Charger,at least I kept it a Dodge !!!!!

First off; what was that goofball Knight Rider-ish light bar on top of that steering column in the video?

Niow, on to the Charger. I like the new tail lights, door & hood sculptures, but only if they could put a 6-speed in it and get rid of the Ram truck front end in favor of something more retro, I'd really consider getting one. This is just absolutely hideous.....

It looks like a goddam large mouth bass for chrissakes!

The watering down of what a muscle car was. We had four door cars, then we had the 2dr sport model.
today, the only people I see driving the majority of new Chargers AND Challengers, are the proverbial "old guys" (myself included according to my 21 Y/O son)....

Have the lack of choices forced us to settle for whatever we can get with a 'retro' name slapped on it so we feel just a little more like a man when driving it?

Never settle. Life's too short. If you actually LIKE the new Charger, ok....I for one will fight being the perverbial "old guy" in a Vette syndrome by refusing to buy whatever's put in front of me with R/T DECALS for emblems.

Mark, I didn't even read your last sentence before you took the words out of my mouth.
I really like the car as well, with the exception of the giant open fish mouth grille. Last time I saw a set of lips like that, it had a hook in it.

We'll be out of the minivan phase in a few short years, if Dodge decides to do a front end redesign and change up that grille (more along the lines of the new Dart), I'd be a serious contender for one.  :yesnod:

For a decent priced 4 door car that suits a families needs...I love it!.....Only mistake was calling it "charger" then we wouldn't all be talking about it

For those who have never seen a large mouth bass, the comparison is spot on.......

That SRT front fascia is quite different than the reg Chargers.Mine is the Road and Track version,so it is blacked out and has an R/T badge in it,the other R/T's have a "Dodge" script there.

Ghoste

That one is much better than the SRT version IMO.

I think I would paint the part body color like on the R/T model then it would take away from the large mouth bass look.....its just all blacked out

Bill, you don't have the little white sticker characters of you,the wife, kids, dogs, etc on it do you ???? LOL

Out of the minivan phase, come on Bill,I still have mine !!! LOL Now that the wife has the new Charger, the minivan is my new Carlisle ride !!!!
03 Caravan SXT,bought new, came with promotional lifetime free oil changes ,.......they hate me now !!!!!!

As much as I hate to admit it, when I quit driving my minivan I missed the practicality sometimes.

If I had the need for a large 4 door car I'd have gotten one already.     The whole Charger / Coronet argument is past tense.
I don't need a semi useless 2 door Chally either... I already have enough toy cars.

I tend to agree about the front end.  Even if it WERE a two door, that front end belongs on a truck! (or in a lake!....)

ws23rt

I haven't disliked the new 4 door chargers except that they used the name charger. I've rented a few and they are a great car.

Now I dislike the new charger because of the grill :Twocents:

Is their still a chance the charger name will fit on a new car?

c00nhunterjoe

love my '07. Has the road and track package. Handles like a dream. Ive changed intake, exhaust, and wrote my own program for it. Im knocking on the 12's door and getting 25 mpg..... you forget its a 4 door when you are in the drivers seat.

:smilielol:
The minivan is here to stay at least a few more years, the kids are at that age where a minivan is really a blessing. My truck isn't going anywhere, not sure what I'd do without one.
No family stickers on the back of the van or anything, if I had to succumb to the pressure they'd be stormtroopers.
One day we'll get back into a family sedan, the Charger would be my first choice.  :yesnod:

In other words, you have the small mouth bass version.
