Very nice.
Question. What did you use to flange the headlight openings and the outer edge of the upper piece? Also did you English Wheel the upper?

Ghoste

I was impressed with the last group of nosecone pics you posted.  You're very talented.

Thinks for comments    :2thumbs:

I used the English wheel on the upper but only in a few areas. as far the outer edges go I used channel locks to ruff it in, hammer and dolly to finish it out. The head light opening I used panel pliers, and hammer and dolly. I tried using the bead roller with a tipping die but that was to much metal to work along. Other tools used was a shinker and stretcher. I also wheeled the two outer edges, and the lower center section.

VERY NICE! Curt...substantial improvements over the last 2 cones, watch out the "mushroom effect" happens next, this guy wants one, you make one, then Joe Blow wants one, you make another, and so on and so on, before you know it, that's all you'll be doing :icon_smile_big:..Seriously, nice work, I know what it takes to get to that stage

very nice work indeed !!!
Are you using a fiberglass nose as template and  to check fitment ?
What gauge  18 or 20 ?
How much mud work do you expect @ the end of the day to make perfect ?

Thanks for the kind words,

I made this out of 18 gauge. For a template I used a real nose cone (thinks to wingman aka JR). As far as fit the pics that I posted was the fit test, I need to work the edges on the sides as I left them a little long but over all it fits real good. As far as mud work goes I don't know, as I'm not a body guy but it shouldn't be a hole lot I hope.

Not a body guy? With metal work like that what the hell would you call yourself? :scratchchin: :scratchchin: :scratchchin: I am thinkin' Master Body Guy. How about that?

daytonalo

When I get around to starting my Daytona I will build my own plug and after seeing your work I may build a nose .
