M&H harness question for 69 Charger (anyone bought the rear lamp harness)

Year One lists the rear lamp harness and the it also lists the backup lamp harness.  Does anyone know if the rear lamp harness also includes the backup lamp portion and they just happen to also sell it separately or must you buy both to get a complete set?
I used to trust their tech line to answer questions like this but I don't anymore so if anyone has bought the rear harness and knows firsthand it would be helpful.

Do they mean the harness that goes from the tranny to the bulkhead?

I would think so, they both have the same style of backup lamps.  :shruggy:

Year one is on crack as usual. Probaly hoping for people to order the extra one that's not necesary, just to back order it for months or years until the buyer forget he ordered it in the first place.

Kind of what I think too.  Even when they were reputable (in my opinion) they did this kind of thing.  Always looking for the  upsell whether needed or not.

I purchased the rear lighting harness for my 70, there is no additional harness needed for the back up lamps they are wired into the main taillamp harness.

They may be referring to the 2 wire harness from the reverse switch on the trans up to the bulkhead connector

I have used there harness kits on a few cars, haven't been disappointed yet.
I have used mostly front lighting and engine.
I would go anywhere else if they are still making them.

Ghoste

I used them for my 67 and it was some of the best money I ever spent on the car but the choice was easier there, it was just dash, engine forward lamp and rear lamp.

Agreed. It should be one continuous harness.

The '70 harness will differ vs a '69 harness, '70's had illuminated side marker lamps which is part of the harness.

Ghoste

Right, but the taillamps and backup lamps should be the same right?

Like their creative shipping charges.  No wonder they are getting a bad reputation.

Ghoste, as well as all the other stuff that has to be removed, it'll be a lot easier to install the leads to the backup lights and the license plate light if you remove the bumper.

It also includes the lead to the fuel sender, with the grommet.

The grommet for the backup light and license plate leads going through the skin of the trunk is included, but there are no grommets for the holes in the rear fascia for the backup light leads.

I was able to check my rear lamp harness today (car is another town) and the backup lamp harness is attached. Two years ago, I bought every wiring harnesses for my 69 Charger through YO, shipping cost $22.00. I had to wait on one to be made through M&H, but it was a custom done harness.

I bought the rear wiring harness for my 68 two years ago, just installed it. As mentioned above it included the wire for the fuel gauge, back up lights, license plate light and side marker lights. Only issue I had is the grommet for the license plate light was to small. The rear valance is a new AMD piece so not sure if the hole was drilled to big by AMD.

Not the same animal but might be helpful. The M&H Backup Lamp harness for my '71 was as John mentioned. It's the harness from the trans to the bulkhead.
I replaced that one along w/the front light and engine harness and the only problem was the backup lamp one was listed for an E body and was shorter. Just had to reroute it a bit and it was fine.

That makes sense, the way I was thinking about would mean there had to be a connection at the rear where the two broke out.  Given YO's reputation in recent years I guess I just suspicious.  Thanks all.
