I have had this shifter lying around for years and I don't know what it fits.  I may be inclined to sell it so what is it worth?

Not sure but it looks like a short handled one.  My guess would be for an E-body or a 71 B-body with console.  I think the repop ones are a couple hundred bucks aren't they?

garner7555

Thanks Ghoste, I think your right.  One person told me it fit a E body and another said 71+ B body.  Are there any numbers on it that would tell me?
I am looking at buying one of the repro kits for my 69, the shifter, handle, and rods as kit is over $700.  I'm sure this one isn't worth anywhere near that number, but to someone looking for date correct they might be glad to have it.

There's someone out there chomping at the bit to get hold of that. If I owned it I'd take the linkage apart, clean and paint it......either black or silver grey? I'd run the handle and shaft over a buffing wheel. I think it would clean up real well.
You would get more money for it, the satisfaction of sprucing it up and the buyer would be stoked to have it.  :Twocents:
FLY NAVY/Marine Corps or take the bus!

Rallye

That's NOT for an E-body.  It's for a 71+ B-body with bench seat or with buckets & soft-center armrest.

Handle looks like the 70 and the shift mechanism from 71 and above.

I agree with Twodko , Clean it up , restore it, research what it fits , and then sell it to the person who's looking for the correct part number shifter for there restoration
Hell find the rest of the car and build it around the shifter lol
Worth a lot more cleaned up and restored

Thanks for the replies!!  You guys are probably right, spending some time on it would be worth while.   :2thumbs:

Is there a number on the reverse lever?

Yes Ghoste, good call, there is 7100 stamped in the reverse lever.

Okay, I don't know it myself but that number should help with the application.

If you think Evil bay is a good guage for pricing.....which it isn't.

The shifter rods ain't no big deal at all.  They were all the same. With and without the crazy chrome pistol grip.  :Twocents:

Rallye is correct. My 73 RR came with this style pistol grip handle, bucket seats with no buddy seat or center armseat.  I purchased one for my 72 Charger couple years back and paid about $ 250.00 with out the rods.

Sure it's not 7180?

7180 fits '70-'74 E Body and '71-up B Body.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

It may be 7180. It's really dirty and needs cleaning up.   :2thumbs:

I agree 100%. When I said maybe its worth more than I thought I was thinking 200-300.  I paid 50 for it and had thought I might get 100 for it until researching them some.
Something is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.  :2thumbs:

The handle alone im sure someone will give you 300 for it if its original and not a repro...

I had plenty of folks look at my handle and ask 300 right there and there since its original production not a repro handle.
