I saw the show for the first time last night, thought it was pretty good. It may have been a repeat but they had purchased an early 70s Charger NASCAR with a Hemi, and it was really cool seeing them put it through its paces against a modern car. Not really a fair test of course, but If what they used to test was accurate, it was interesting to see that old car pull over 1G in the cones. I think they still had the torsion bars and leafs still at that time? still pretty cool to see it on the track, sounded nasty too.

The week before that, he found a old Marty Robins Plymouth belvedere that Ray restored. I like that show. But yes, I was surprised as out dated the Charger was, it still did pretty good against the new cup car.

I know of a couple cars in the collection, would love to be able to see them all though.  I will say that he was a very down to earth man when I met him.

Yeap, Ray was very cool, a gearhead who has the ability to gather cars from his past and his fancy..... He is VERY busy though it seems with commitments with Velocity and other shows like Barrett-Jackson....

He was a judge at one of the concour's events I was at not too long ago as well.  Can't recall now if it was Amelia or St. Johns or where but I imagine any of that personal appearance thing is where he gets pulled a lot.  Another one of those guys who retired and became busier than he was when he was working?
