Great Story...sorry for your loss of a friend....I am sure it was just heavy on your mind and was in your thoughts as you slept.......My Nephew Murdered a little girl, tore me up for a loooong time and still does, I swear I wake up and see her looking at me ....and I cry and keep saying I'm sorry, its very powerful I feel like I could have done something somehow ( I know I couldn't but ...) as he was a relative and that poor little innocent girl haunts me.....I know its my mind but some days I do wonder...Guilt I guess as it was a family member that did it....I used to drive two hours to her mothers house and just sit outside for hours crying wanting to go in and say I'm so sorry.....Finally I did it two months ago....the dreams have gone away for the most part, her mother hugged me and said I know there is nothing you could have changed ...I felt closure...as I said the Mind is powerful

I'm glad you got some closure on that incident. Like you say the mind is a powerful thing. That dream was the last time I saw my buddy other than that wednesday before the accident happened. It's sad but things happen that no one can control and it takes time to heal those wounds whether it be physically or mentally.

Sure it exists. Just asks the sorcerers and witches. Just don't bother to ask them to prove it works, because they can't.

All I know is, I didn't buy it as I never seemed to experience anything 'weird'....

All this changed when the wifey's mother "Nanna" died. The home place was sold to one of the daughters.
wifey told her she was still in the house. She laughed it off as well as I.
one night the new owner called the house and asked the wifey if she'd come right over, something's wrong.
We get there and all the cabinets are wide open, food is all stacked on the kitchen table, all the dishes are stacked in the living room floor about 5ft high.
I'm thinkin she's lost it. Wifey here's the toilet flush. I don't hear anything. I go into basement to see if anything's causing a noise and I hear footsteps go across the floor and figure they are moving round. I get back upstairs and ask them if the footsteps I heard were theirs moving from room to room. They claim the never got up from the table.

Just then, I see the owner's little girl reaching up like she wanted to be picked up standing in the middle of the living room.
hmmm. I ask what's she's doing and wifey tells me "Nanna's here. She can see her".

You tell me? Freaked me out. I never saw nothing.

Guess a few chosen ones will experience things, I never have, have four sisters, who say things happen all the time...

Not ruling anything out, but guess it's a see it to believe type thing...

Although, I did date a physic a while back, just never knew at the time...when it ended, I had to ask why she even went out with me? She must have known it wouldn't last...  ;D

Dead is dead...have seen no evidence otherwise, but, that's just me

to Christians rising from the dead was a "miracle " but to someone else that could be viewed as witchcraft or sorcery

Or myth.

To you non believers, I feel sorry for you.

I feel sorry for those who have to prop up their insecurities with superstition. (and, yes, religion is, by definition, superstition)
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Way back in the 70s, I would go to my great grandma's house to help clean, and just hang out in general. The very last conversation I had with her, i mentioned that should she ever die, that she should come back and haunt me. Shortly after she passed, i had dreams for about 2 weeks, every night. They started off with me walking past her house, seeing her in the window after I knew she was dead, and screamed my head off. The next evening, the dream started where the previous night's dream left off. They all ended up being consecutive the entire 2 weeks. She told me something that took me years before  i actually understood what she meant in those dreams. After they concluded, there was closure. My mom swears she is still in that house.

My best friend passed from cancer when we were in our 20s. I would have dreams where we would hang and shoot the breeze, all the while understanding that he was gone, even while dreaming. They would be random, and happened on and off for years.

I gave my X several brooms and a instruction manual on how to clean a kitchen floor.  That didn't work either.

I believe it, I have personally seen stuff with my own two eyes that could not be explained in the natural sense.. and no I was not drunk or taking any medications. very dark presence, cloudy dark shadows I would catch out of the corner of my eye, one time it looked like a black cat (but cloudy not solid) this happened when I was about 14 years old and my sister saw the same exact thing we both saw it at the same time and I think we looked at each other at the same exact moment because her face gave the expression "did you see that" never found any "creature" in the house doors were all locked and windows closed (and it was the dead of winter) I have talked to friends that have experienced levitation from using a Oujia board.. My mother even attests that she saw a girl Levitate when a group of girls were using a Oujia board she said they were chanting "stiff as a board, light as a feather" and the girl levitated off the floor about a foot.. I believe it's Demonic from the research I have done on it over the years.

Quite a few things that were once considered myth's in religious texts have been proven a fact in the last couple of decades.  I have no doubt that more things can be proven fact in one way or another.

74bluecharger440

That would be a yes for me.. I've seen lots of unexplained stuff from early age to present. I have never and will never be close minded to the unexplained , usually there is no way to explain how or why but the visual happened.. An old high school sweetheart (20) years later was in a dream where her husband was chasing her around a pool trying to kill her.I had not been in touch with her or anything but the dream was so vivid I called her Mom and told her to call her daughter and why.. Mom told me I was crazy  as her daughter was living in Aruba and happily married.. Well not to long after she called me back and said I was right ,,Hairs stood up on the back of my neck ,my Dad says to me how do you always know these things and I cannot explain it.. She (ex G. F. ) called me up and thanked me and reminded me of other events of when we were kids.. I'm at the casino with a buddy we walk up to the roulette wheel and he says look at all the reds coming up I said black 42 is next  and it was.. Had I of bet on it it may have changed the sequence but freaky nonetheless. Many other stories I could share but ya never close your mind to things you don't understand cause you were programmed as a kid to not believe it.

While I believe in the deity of Christ, and the fact that He was an atonement for our sins, I would have to agree with Poly that a very hi percentage of " organized religion " just doesn't get it. I am not saying that i know everything, or even much, but I do know that true Christianity  is based solely on God's Word, and not what some denomination, parish, or whatever chooses to interpet for you.

As far as ghosts, I myself believe that those manifestations are actually part of Satan's group that followed him over God. Some people would call them demons, fallen angels etc... but i believe they mimic a person who has passed in order to be more effective in a given circumstance.  :Twocents:

 :iagree: With most of it.

It's always been my opinion that as much or more faith is required to believe in any "incidental life origin" theory as it does creation. I don't think humanity has even scratched the clear coat on the surface of understanding and we can't begin to know a miniscule percentage of how things work.

JB400

I don't have a problem with any organized religion, it's the people in that religion.  I don't get to go to church that often, but I do attend and not always to the same one.  It broadens my mind and opens me to new ideologies and come to my own conclusions as to what the meanings are.  Unfortunately, there are several overly religious people that are not this way and have their beliefs written in stone.  Nothing wrong with this, but when they say I should be doing this, this, and this, in order to be accepted, then I have a problem with it.  Some are just flat out determined to press their beliefs down upon others.  It's kind of like a choose your own adventure book.  Don't tell me which page to flip to.  Let me read each one and let me pick the one I like best. :2thumbs:

We know quite a bit of how things work, more than you know.  But before you get your panties in a twist, there is indeed a ton of stuff we cannot explain.   :icon_smile_big:   And I'm not one to explain it with magic, there's no point.

If you need faith in your life then by all means have at it.  I work with people from all backgrounds and religions, or lack thereof, and we can all work together just fine.  Be ethical, be good to your fellow man and everything else will work out.  I really don't care how you see the world, I care how you treat it.

Don't get in my face with your beliefs and I will return the favor.  Don't attack John for his belief, he merely commented on what is really severely annoying.  You are not a better person because you believe in a deity, you're the same as me: an insignificant life form like the other few billion.

And don't ask for proof if you can't deliver it yourself, if there was proof of any of these thousands of Gods we have had throughout history then we'd all be believers.  Proving a negative is still impossible despite numerous feeble attempts to do just that.  Prove to me there are no invisible time travelers, not easy is it?

Why is it that every time the subject even leans towards politics or religion you guys go all haywire?  Nothing is completely right or wrong, good or bad, black or white so why fight over it?  Don't we all want the same?  A bit of peace and quiet, someone to share life with and enjoy this short existence?  Isn't that why we put all this energy in our cars?  For the fun of it?

Just be nice and try to show some understanding, it's really not that hard.

Peace

Post of the f**king year.

It seems like it's human nature to choose sides and then spit on the ones that don't agree with you, but it doesn't have to be that way.  Will the human race as a whole ever learn?  I doubt it, but at least some people get it, for all the good it will do...

You know. Politics and religion don't belong here.  If you nothing nice to say. Shut the HELL up.

My sister passed away last year. She was the closest in age to myself. We were very close for many years when our kids were small. As years went by and life moves you on we drifted, like many do. She had a debilitating brain disease that took her slowly. It took five years for her to pass. The last couple she was no longer the same person.

Anyway, she is still with me, everyday. I can feel her presence. When I am alone mostly. It puts a chill up my spine to tell you the truth. I dont know what she wants to tell me. I have yet to figure that out. Could it be her husband? Anyone of the children, mine or hers? Something I have not yet done to bring closure? I moved 1800 miles away and was not there in her last moments. I regret that.

So do I believe? I don't disbelieve. Until you personally have that cold chill run up your spine, you don't have a clue?
