Overall Diamensions: 68 Charger

Does anyone have the correct legnth and width diamensions (From the widest point of the 1/4 and front fender) for the 1968 Dodge Charger???

It's amazing how often this question seems to come up.  I can almost pull these numbers off the top of my head by now.

A 1968/69 Charger is about 208" long from bumper to bumper.  It's about 79-80" wide at the widest point (which I think is the door handles). 

Don't take any of these numbers as gospel without at least an extra inch of leeway.  The panel-fit tolerances on the cars' bodies were pretty sloppy from the factory, and restorations only add to the problem.

The legnth Sounds good, but,  I thought the car was wider at the outer bows of the 1/4 panels.

Naw.

The quarters do indeed bow out a little at the rear wheelwells, but that area is less than an inch wider than where the quarter panel stops at the doorjamb.  No way that's gonna be wider than the doorhandles, which stick out about 2 inches each.

That sounds right... My doors have been off for so long, I forgot what they looked like. Hopefully a little $$ comes my way and I'll get a chance to see them on again....

  That's about 17.3 ft. , huh?     When I stand next to my car I am still surprised how big of a car it is.
