$400 to build a new one? Seems steep to me especially since I paid only $200 for one to be built for my '57 Chevy.
Anyone know a vehicle I can use as a donor that I can find in most junkyards?
Trans 727tf with 30 spline slip yoke (have new yoke) 1.18" caps, rear end is a 8.75 with 1.078" caps, length from u-joint center to u-joint center is 54.25". Somewhat limited on parts in the Roseburg Oregon area.

I'd say find one that is long enough that matches your 8-3/4 yoke size, and have it shortened and rebalanced. 727 output splines for car/truck are all the same.

Thanks. No go for anything close at the junk yard. Went with my tape measure and digital caliper to measure caps. Oldest that I could find was tagged 74 truck, but didn't match what I needed.

What a shame.  There was a vendor at Carlisle every year with dozens of driveshafts.  Just take your choice.

Place an ad on CL.  There's a hoarder close to any of us.   :2thumbs:

I put an ad on Moparts and found the exact part# needed with yoke shipped for 200. :icon_smile_cool: I would post a WTB on all of the "parts" forums. The weather this year is killing the swaps.  :eek2: just canceled one here in the Chicago area.
