Looks like a good buy for someone wanting a very complete car! Even got an original jack in the trunk! The SPD (311) is just 3 days (314) before mine. March 14, 1969 was a Friday so, March 11th would have been a Tuesday.
I did not look at the paperwork (not sure a copy of it is in the photos) but he must have picked it up on Monday, March 17th or, St. Patrick's Day in 1969.

Yes sir!  R4 bright red exterior with a C6R red interior was a NOT recommended color combo and required the V08 variance code.

Ghoste better get in on this one since it is a new one to the Registry (as of last year) ;)

Another oddity is that this is the second 316XXX registered VIN that was in the Registry as of last year.  the other one was 316001....this one of 316997 is at the other end of the spectrum (001 wasnt a Canadian car like this one though)

Actually, I am not too fond of the exterior/interior color scheme. Not recommended for a reason, I think.  Why do you think the fender tag screws were replaced? The paint color of the fender and the tag seem to match so, it was, most likely, not taken off during a repaint.

Any thoughts on the VON? Seems low for a March car.

Damn that's a lot of red, was it Elvis'?

With the larger heads on those screws, they ensured it would be harder to lose from rusting away and falling off  :Twocents: kidding...

It is a lot of red. . Not sure I would go back to red on red.  Black on red or even white on red, and lose the vinyl top.

I feel $20,000.00 is high for the car.  It has quite a bit of rust and some interior issues.  A non R/T Charger needing a minimum of two rear quarters and rear valance, I am thinking $12 to $14  at most. Cool car anyway, thanks for posting.

The ad is straight up flipper language.  The flipper probably bought it for well under $10k.

As for V08, this car has been resprayed (over the bondo) and doesn't look anything like R4 red, it looks more like some red lipstick color.  With proper R4, new interior, and a clean white top it could be quite a looker.  Albeit not everyone's cup of tea.

Dino

I feel there are few colors, if any that you can use to cover the entire interior.  Black or gray would be the only one.  All white is a bit much for me as well but but still works.  Two tone black and white works just fine.

I cannot stand my green interior and it's not because it's green, it's because all of it is green.  A two tone with black would have been much nicer.  The reds and blues point out the cheap materials used too much.  Those colors work much better in a high quality leather but I keep coming back to the same, it all looks spray bombed, there's no variables.

The car is way cool but I have to agree with Tim, it's a bit high and it needs a boatload of work.

I'll agree, $20K the way it sits is sky high. Especially with the amount of rust & filler the seller is describing. The quarters and rear valance is just constructed of filler.  :eek2:
The first thing that caught my eye as well which was mentioned were the weird screws holding the VIN tag on.

Personally I'd be hesitant deviating from the color combo given it's uniqueness.

Ghoste

Late to the party, been down with pneumonia.  As Chris mentioned, this is only the car in 316 range to be registered and its one of seven registered with V08 so it is a rarity.

ACUDANUT

Red on red is cool. But it sounds like a flipper bought it. I would guess it is worth 8-12K tops.

66FBCharger

I like the car a lot. I don't think I like it 20K worth though.
I'm confused. If it is original 21,000 miles, why is it so rotted? Maybe it sat outside? The inside appears to me to confirm the low miles. The upper door pads, the lettering and lens of the gauge cluster all look very good with little wear.
