I can't friggin' stand when people mold skulls into the body!!!!  :slap: That marbleized black stripe treatment looks like poo also.... I like the color and hood but that's about it... Best of luck with the 85 G's
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

xs29bb1

Once again...... it's a 68.  Why oh why do they always do this shit to 68s???

Kern Dog

What a crappy ad. For that kind of cash, it needs MORe and BIGGER pictures.

don duick

value of modified chargers overtaking value of correct restos ? Look at the silver 1970 charger on E Bay with a price of $279,000 whats going on is the economy booming or are these sellers dreaming.

imagine if he didnt build this one he could have all that cash to build the next one  :icon_smile_big: I highly doubt he is gonna make money off the build way to custom and way to rare to find that special one person who will like this as much as he did.

Mike DC

Customs don't make money.

When they do, the are usually the work of some overrated famous builder whose name alone guarantees a profit.

nother car with lots of time & money put into it !! clever & nice work    :2thumbs:

I make no secret I don't  like extensively  customised chargers etc , rather them looking stock or slightly modified day two look or looking stock but with motor & suspension mods , built to run , not potter about on a show field ( no offence to anyone   )

this green one  looks good okish compared to the rest I've seen !! ,  like  wheel arch lips   looks kind of  back in the day grand national  stock car !!

imo  think it would  look better stock hood &  paint it a solid  color  , gut the interior ,  stock car type dash set up & interior  ,   cage it , 15 inch wheels with nascar rubber ,   hemi & a four speed ,  :drool5: :yesnod:

I like it, but if I was the buyer I'd toss the hood and do something with the interior.  Why not put a Hee-mi  in the engine bay?  Why do so much with the exterior and leave the interior close to bone stock?  That interior is soooooo 1968...

BrianShaughnessy

Looks like a show poodle...  with a stupid skull on the hood among other things  :eyes:

Looks like the hoses in the bay are not even fastened anywheres. Odd for a car wit all that work done.
If your wheels ain't spinn'n you ain't got no traction.

Not bad. Few things I would change but overall I think it's a nice ride. I probably wouldn't have changed the hood, but rather tried to integrate the vents into the existing style lines. But overall it's a nice car.

Funny, but that's one of the main reasons why I like it.  I am so tired of the customized car with the sheet stock gauge cluster and leftover modern day seats tossed interior.

This goes to show why modified cars are a tough sell. There's always going to be a certain aspect(s) that someone will have something to complain about.
Personally, the hood skull and rolled wheel openings are not my taste. OK, maybe neaten up the underhood wiring & hoses. Other than that it's a nice custom.

The hood is the worst by far, part Chevy cowl induction, part AMX, and part stupid (a skull? really?) but I don't hate the car too much overall.  I'm another one that is glad they left the interior alone.  Good luck getting strong money for it though.
(a skull  :rotz: might as well use a 3d face of Elvis or Marilyn Monroe or Winston Churchill on there ::))

That stripe treatment looks like peel and stick with air pockets under it.   :cryin:

Why can't people get all 'creative' on a Dodge Aries instead of a Charger?   :brickwall:

JB400

Considering the profile of the hood, it'd look better on a Challenger. :yesnod:

I'd love to make a NASCAR Daytona street replica out of that thing.  The undercarriage is already "lowered" (sunk upwards) in relation to the roof & sides of the body, and it already has a 4spd.

BROCK

I like the mods that made the Factory NASCAR versions winners!  They were
subtle (because they were not technically allowed by the rules).  Anything that
expands on that version of development has my interest!  This 68 has what in
my opinion are fails all over it.  This is what comes from a show car vision as
opposed to a go car vision.

Well yeah, there's a lot of work standing between where that thing is now and a good NASCAR replica.

Not really my 'cup of tea' either, but that color....OMG  :drool5:

Man I'm only 25 and I don't even like that car LOL. The color is cool but to me they ruined a '68 Charger. I read the ebay ad and the guy talks more about what he would change on it more than what it's got. Couldn't find any details on what heads, pistons, cam, exhaust system, ETC. that the car had. Also said it has a dent in the quarter panel, why not get that fixed before trying to sell for that kind of $$$$.

The guy who placed a bid for $85,000 must be the same guy at the Barrett Jackson auctions with more money than brains, I would think that is a $40-45k car, maybe $50k tops.

The color looks cool, but I'll take my all original numbers matching '68 any day.

I too agree that customs don't sell well.  They are a builders rendition of a vision.  Many of these are like the bike builds of OCC and the like. In those cases it's all for show and maybe a donors cause.  One has to wonder what happens to those bikes :shruggy:---parted out perhaps--

I admire the craftsmanship but the total package will be hard pressed to recoup the cost. :Twocents:

This part of the hobby is where money is not an issue and a builder is playing. :2thumbs:

Except for the hood I like it, the skull is small enough to not matter. Should be about half of the opening bid of 85K.

I like it too except for the hood. The wheels could go down to 17" I think too. No one else notice how crappy the decal on the hood looks? :rotz: All kinds of lines in it  :P

Dino

I like most of it, unlike most custom Chargers.  The hood has to go,  not because it's not a cool hood but it's near impossible to improve on he stock design.  The skull is way too juvenile, it really cheapens the car imo.  I like the interior.  The closer to stock it looks the better.  These cars are as gorgeous in as they are out.  I always admire people who change the entire interior and do a great job...but once you're in the car you can't tell you're in a Charger anymore and all the cool stuff is replaced with the same crap that's in our dailies.

I would install a stock hood and repaint the car, I don't like these type of greens, but hell yeah I could drive that!

Is this the widen Charger project that was on U Tube? :scratchchin:

Dump the hood, sell the wheels and raise the car 2 inches and I take it.

I like mine low, but thats too low for my tastes also and the hood its cool and all, but again not my type of coffee either.  Yes it was widened to accomdoate the large rims in back...which to me aint bad...I like the wide rims/tires look gives ya more traction.

Ryan

Put a stock hood on it and that would be a great car in my opinion.  Don't get me wrong I love stock chargers but there is nothing wrong with some variety.
