Has anyone had a custom head gasket made from these guys? Good, bad? I need a MLS .120" head gasket made to get my compression down for the blower and Cometic wants half of my retirement for a set.  :brickwall:

It's the inexpensive way to drop your compression if you don't have the appropriate pistons..

Tell me about it, but Flatout gaskets are 40% cheaper than Cometics.

I wouldn't even hesitate-- they appear to be high quality gaskets with a long enough company background.

How low  compression wise can u get with the gaskets?

Charger4404spd

Im at 9.4 with a .039" gasket and I can get it down to a manageable 8.25 with a .120" gasket.

Wow, really thats incredible then a whole point i read half point is max with gaskets?

I almost went with the "Flatout" gaskets but the Company Rep told me that they were engineered to be used either with an O ringed block or in conjunction with a Fel Pro wire ring gasket.
I went with Cometics when I wanted to lower the squeeze in my 440/493. I was over 11 to 1 with the Fel Pro .039 and the .075 Cometics put me at 10.07 to one. No leaks, no problems and no detonation.

I spoke with one of their reps also and maybe I heard him wrong, but I thought he said o-ringing was for the copper gaskets only, not required with the MLS gaskets. You may be correct, guess I need to call them again.

Sorry! Yes, I was referring too the copper ones. I saw them on the Summit Racing site then called Flatout directly.
