I am at training this week in Orlando, FL.  One of the students in class mentioned that Daytona was only an hour or so away... SO... I jumped in the rental car and headed out...  Sadly I was not able to get there by 5:00PM since I didn't even leave Orlando till 5:00PM.   The museum was closed but I was able to take a couple photos...  I tried my best Little "E" and Sr. photo...  :)  I will upload a few 'Track' photos a bit later...

I may have more time on Friday if I finish up early and will head back to Daytona to see the Museum, LORD willing.

There is no longer a museum open to the public at Daytona.   What you can do is the VIP track tour which costs $50.    It runs three hours, 1-4 PM, Tues, Thurs and Sat.    A highlight of that is when they take you to the unmarked building off site that has the track archives.    I can tell you that is very interesting.

They done away with Daytona USA?  I knew they remodeled it and named it something else, but I wasn't aware it was closed.  I was there in 96 when Jarrett won the 500 ( not at the race, but later on in the year).  They had Gordon's car  that dangled from cables where they removed the body and they also had Sir Malcolm Campbell's Bluebird.

Yes, it has been closed for some time now.    The only car on display to the public is the current year 500 winner.   You can see it from the gift shop, or up close after the track tour.

The other museum in Daytona is the Living Legends Auto Racing museum which is in a strip mall away from the track.    You might run into some old timers like Ray Fox if you are lucky.   They have some older cars and interesting artifacts on display.
